Actually, it is the conservatives/Republicans doing it to themselves and I put a good chunk of the blame on them for the situation we're in. They can't get out of their own way as witnessed by the self centered senators that voted for that sham of a budget being pushed through Congress now. Many of those Republican senators were the same that voted for the other massive pork budgets passed during the current administration. At least the Dems are united in their messaging.

I have no love for either party. They've demonstrated that the only way to fix things is to clean house and start all over again.

Many of the latest so called movements and initiatives have now been proven to be well organized grifts. Target the meek and pound them with guilt.
Amazing to watch them fall for every current thing that comes along from CEO Juicy Smollett.
No repercussions, so just keep em rolling.

Uni's gotta go. Possum or whatever his nickname is needs to be first to get a boot in his ass. Both sides, with a few exceptions from both, are self-serving, baby kissing, always maneuvering freakshows. I'm embarrassed to be an American.

Broke?
Hell, then let's spend like drunk monkeys.

Millions for studies into bee friendly motorways...
Good grief. Like a slap across the face

One last rant snippet lol

I am seriously researching these words:
Costa
Rica

Thinking I may not want to spend my remainder watching this collapse before my eyes.
I just wish San Jose was closer to the beach.

San Jose Costa Rica. Big expat neighborhoods. I can't find much of anything negative after researching. I want surf, however. Guancaste, Playa Flamingo down to just past Tamarindo, is the likely bullseye area, if I can make it happen.
First things first...I want to go stay a week during each of the 2 seasons.

Neither party cares about the middle class... FTFY... every arguement is a disguise to spread the classes out further... it is what it is.

And to be clear, there was a gross inaccuracy in the text you quoted where it said:

'The problem is the "science" that promotes anthropogenic climate change is bad is based on just mathematic modeling.'

That's not true. That's not even close to true. There are multiple lines of evidence (many) that come to the conclusion that recent warming results from elevated concentrations of atmospheric GHGs that come primarily from the combustion of fossil fuels.

People point at "the model" (there are many), but climate models aren't how we know what we know. There's a ton of data out there. Data even Exxon recognized as convincing 40+ years ago.

There are clearly issues around BEV charging in our country in order of scalable growth. But comparing the full life cycle of one BEV, its batteries and charging power usage is almost always going to come out favorable to an ICE car and its lifetime consumables.

EV charging in UK is sky rocketing because of the energy crisis and EV's will soon be road taxed as fuel cars are.

They’re also talking about forced blackouts in 2023, due to the energy crisis, so this is going to be interesting.

I'm not sure who you're talking about but this guy seems pretty legit.

https://carrcenter.hks.harvard.edu/p...siddharth-kara

And I'd say his assertions seem to be supported by other sources. What I find surprising is that this doesn't seem more reported by woke progressive journalist. The conditions that cobalt is mined is a kin to slavery and the environmental and human toll is significant.

I have spoken with 20-30 somethings (EV market wheelhouse) and mid-50s smart savvy business guys re: EVs.

Summary from these folks: EVs don’t make sense today. They aren’t equally usable and equally impactful from a total cost of ownership point of view vs ICE vehicles. These people don’t believe the planet will self-destruct if they don’t buy an EV today or anytime soon.

Toyota CEO’s recent comments suggest the industry looks at the EV euphoria as the scantily-clad emperor. Expect timelines for EV penetration to be pushed back, either accompanied by public announcements or quietly out of the public spotlight.

Expect furthermore that ICE technology will continue its relentless march forward and upward, as it always has and always will. Specific power and fuel consumption will continue better (lower) causing the EV-ICE parity point to be continually pushed further into the future, if it ever arrives.

The timelines won't be pushed back, they will just allow PHEV's as part of the mix and boom, problem solved.
