What, the gubmint never lies to the sheeple!!!

I caught up on the last 2 episodes earlier this week. Without the zombies or GIs, I am enjoying seeing typical family dynamics shown on a screen. Mom chews her BF a new one for not doing his part, yet junior is out in the pool and she tells him "Enjoy your swim"
Sister thinks she is Juliet and going to end it all to be with her love, not knowing she is going to come back and make mom blast her head off.

The last flash of lights in the house were gunfire as a result of others seeing the signaling, not necessarily the house of execution for those who don't behave within the fence.

Let me ask you this hypothetical scenario to show you what i mean: what if i told you a grandma was about to jaywalk into the middle of a busy, traffic intersection? Would you help her? (Answer the question to get my point).

Edit: actually, forget the analogy. I'll do my best to explain my point. It's a very common storytelling technique, particularly in the sci-fi or fantasy genre where the author takes the reader on a journey with a main character (or in this case a group of people) in an alternate/parallel/different universe, through his/her trials, tribulations, experiences, decisions, errors and victories. This is exactly what TWD/FTWD is. It's not a morality play or insructional video about what to do in a zombie apocalypse. It's about a diverse group of people reacting differently to a unbeforeknown situation. And so far, have some characters exhibited a lack of "common sense"? Perhaps, but realize that MANY people throughout history have exhibited even less common sense in more dramatic and life-threatening situations, so what the characters have so far exhibited (in my opinion) have not been completely different than what one could imagine a normal person would have done.

Frankly, TXSTYLE, i'm a little befuddled by your post, since in your other posts you have a great appreciation for movies, particularly in the horror and action genres, where characters routinely exhibit unrealistic reactions (most of horror) and/or unrealistic behavior (dodging bullets and shooting with near-perfect accuracy at moving targets at distance).

I would try to add to your explanation, but it would probably be futile.

Luckily there is an option for people who don't like the show. They could just, you know, change the fucking channel.

They should have lost the angry blonde wife blond wife. She's so mad and mean all of the time, I was hoping to see her get bitten and put out of her misery.

Good episode anyway, some nice surprises, but now back to the real Walking Dead!

Meh, the show essentially morphed into "The Walking Dead - West Coast Version". I was hoping that they would focus more about the backstory of the zombie apocalypse, i.e. how the virus/infection/whatever came about. Basically, the show (to me) is a replication of TWD but starting earlier a bit earlier in the apocalypse timing. But with less compelling characters. I'll probably tune in next season just to see where this goes though.

Seriously let down by the show last night. ZERO new ideas, just rehashed plots from every other zombie show in history. No surprising moments, no unexpected turns, just bland and boring. Why did the Army guy show up only to shoot the daughter and not the man who tortured him? Why did they feel the need to kill off Travis' ex in the final few minutes? Oh I have a bite, better shoot me. Oh wow, let's get to my boat to escape the zombies. So tired, so lame.

I'll still watch the next season of course because I love the genre, but I'm not expecting much. TWD is a 10x better show.

I enjoyed the 1st season of FTWD, however, I'm stoked about this Sunday's 90 minute premier. Party at my house a few hours before it starts! Beer and all the finger foods you could think of.

Yeah that part really bothered me. IIRC, two guys on that tower and maybe another 5 on the ground. They were shooting zombies for minutes so you would expect there to be a pileup of zombies They would have had time to get into the tanks and opened up a can of whoopass on them but it seemed like they didn't do anything and then they breached through the fence. Even my 8 yr old was like

They should've had a bunch of grenades go off, run out or one blows the gate, or the pile gets so high of dead that they use it like a ramp.

I second this. Fear has been horrible and i hope they don't make a second season because i would watch it in fear of missing out on anything. Which i doubt i would......

I thought it was a pretty good show / season and believe it has already been renewed for season 2. I agree some more background on how the epidemic started would have been good but I liked it nevertheless. (Plus maybe they are saving that story for later in FTWD or TWD.) It is amusing that some hate it so much but can't seem to stop watching it.
