Chill out guys. We will know soon enough. I am sure we will see those LFA owner's impressions floating around the internet.

For now, the closest I found was this on the Nissan GTR (NAGTROC) page about a performance tuning shop owner ('Forged performance') driving the LFA:

Quote:
Today, we had the rare opportunity to be the first performance shop in the country to get their hands on the new Lexus LFA. One of our local clients is a huge car buff, and was the first person in the country to put a deposit down on his very own LFA. Although his custom prepared LFA won't arrive until Jan, a representative from Lexus corporate was charged with introducing a demonstration car to each buyer and allowing them to drive it for a half day. This yellow LFA is the East Coast demo car, and there is only one other in the country out on the West coast.

This particular client not only has done business with us in the past, but is also a good personal friend. So when he called me at 12:30pm and said he'd be at my shop in 20 mins with the LFA I was ecstatic! When the car rolled up, it brought our shop to a complete standstill...

Much like the GT-R, the LFA looks infinitely better in person. The body line is similar in many ways to the GT-R but with a more compact form factor and a tall broad shoulder line. It's physically a much smaller car. I took about 20 mins simply to take the car in and examine all of it's lines closely. This is a precision designed car with aggressive and sharp body lines along with some magnificent technology underneath the skin. From the carefully placed air inlets to the sturdy support structures for the active wing, it's all very well thought out and designed. The interior of the car is all business. Carbon fiber racing steering wheel, seats wrapped in alcantera and all gauges and controls well placed.

After my viewing it was time to give the LFA a well deserved test drive. After a 2 minute orientation by the nice lady from Lexus, I grabbed the paddles and set the transmission to "SPORT" mode. After making a right turn out of the parking lot I wasted no time in doing a quick 1,2,3 to 9000rpm down Cobb Parkway buzzing past a half dozen car dealerships in the process. One word: MAGIC! The exhaust note is by far the best sounding I have ever heard. It's a sharp Formula 1 inspired note, with very little bass or drone. The gearbox shifts were very sharp in SPORT mode but had that slight delay between power application that I've experience before in the gearbox from Ferrari and Lamborghini, and Audi. It's a shame the gear changes aren't instantaneous like our GT-R's, as it would have made this amazing machine that much better.

I kept heading southbound on Cobb Parkway on my way to my favorite "test track" also known as Delk Road by the Air Base. Noticing that my passenger was a little agitated with my 105mph blast down Cobb Parkway. I assured the Lexus representative that I was a licensed race car driver and I knew what I was doing. She seemed relieved and started to relax a little bit. She mentioned that nobody has taken this car above 4500rpm yet...oops...and she was really impressed with how fast the car was. Fortunately, she was unnerved and gave me full rein to drive the car as hard as I wanted to. One favorite section of my "track" is a nice right hand ramp with two sharp right hand turns inter-spaced with two short straights. I dropped the LFA down to 2nd gear and dove in. Body roll is nearly flat, and the brakes are tremendous. With my foot on the floor we rocketed out of the last right hander and enjoyed the music coming from the engine....another 2, 3, and part of 4 and we are 120mph in a heartbeat.

Overall, the OEM handling of the car is the best I have ever experienced. Flat and firm suspension manners and razor sharp steering make this one really fun car to drive fast. The power delivery is extremely linear with loads of power from 2500rpm all the way to the 9500rpm shift point I chose. No turbos, no turbo lag, just loads of power everywhere. It's a very different car from the GT-R; the LFA has a more purist feel to it despite it's high end hardware and technology behind it. Once our client takes delivery of his own LFA, you better believe we'll have it on the dyno, and tested right away. Maybe even a few "track" comparo's as well....perhaps some twin turbos?! Stay tuned!

Great exhaust note, still think that carrera gt sounds better. Have heard both. Carrera gt nicer interior and exterior. The lexus looks, lexus bland. 400k so many other choices. If exclusivity is what you are after the lexus is it. If you want looks to go with the price tag I would look elsewhere.

Materials, fit, finish and high-tech technology as well as luxury amenities wise, LFA is way ahead of the Carrera GT, which was elegant, but very simple. LFA uses alcantara, leather, aluminum and carbon fiber for the interior. Carrera GT also cost $450,000 back in 2004 + plus options.

Exhaust and exterior styling is subjective.

Forged Performance owns a highly modified Nissan GTR and actually participate in track racing competitions so he does compete.

The black LFA (#026) now delivered in Chicago.

The delivery news was so big in the suburbs of Chicago that it made it to the WGN news on TV. Looks just stunning in black:

Unless that fat old man in the first video is some sort of amazing race car driver he doesn't deserve a LFA.

Second and third person accounts about this car is pointless already. How about 1st person accounts? Where are these owners? They are reluctant to post their impressions on the very sight that supports the brand.

They don't lurk around the internet. The silver LFA owner from what I have found out through several people was answering everyone's questions at the Caffeine and Octane meet and giving detailed accounts of the LFA and his experience. You should go and see him and he will tell everything in detail, if you don't believe the 1sicklex guy. It is consistent with just about every other review I have seen so far.

Otherwise, the only few LFA owners I found on the internet are waiting to receive their LFAs yet for a while.

Ferrari & Lambo guys post on forums. 6 speed online, Lambo, Ferrari forums etc.. CL member Tommy James owns a Lambo LP** and posts on CL posing the same questions I have.. None of the owners or potential owners are a part of the super car circle. First time supercar owners my ass. Dealer owned cars perhaps? Where are these owners?

I know he owns the GTR track car with Forged on the side, but I would consider him a professional driver by any means. Considering track days at Road Atlanta consist of him getting beat my numerous cars. But that's not why I don't like Forged...

Wherever they are, that is not what this thread is intended to be for. I have got ample proof of people talking with the silver LFA owner who has put over 200 miles in weeks on the car despite bad weather and has been seen several times in previous NAGTROC meets with his modified Nissan GTR and R8 V10 so he did not pop out of nowhere.

It is about Lexus delivering LFAs to customers and if you disagree that is fine since some people really don't want this car to be what it is turning out to be.

I have always said the CGT was the best sounding car by a long shot, but now it has some serious competition!

You are right about the exterior. In the cabin, there seems to be a major difference between the sound of the two cars because LFA revs 1000 rpm higher so it is a smaller and more high strung V10. If you want to see side by side:

Lexus LFA (warm up lap and Goodwood record fastest begins at 2:10):

Porsche Carrera GT around Nurburgring (7:29 lap time):

Has anyone on this forum ever driven a CGT? It looks like the sifter position would get really annoying quickly. I have sat in one, but never driven one.

I think Porsche designed it that way to reduce the distance between the steering wheel and the shifter so the driver does not have to move the arm much. Hence much quicker shifts.

In city driving, the only annoying thing I have heard is the clutch, which is very difficult to modulate where either it ends up stalling or the driver ends up torching the rear tires. On uphill inclines, it is even more difficult. It is very on/off like. But, it is to be expected in a car with no internal inertia.

Dang, I can't imagine what it'd be like to see my brand new LFA being rolled off the truck! I got excited enough just seeing my new G37 with the plastics still on rolled out to me. I'd probably go into convulsions if that was my LFA.....

A member on Audi/Volkswagen forums had an encounter with the silver Lexus LFA and its owner:

I knew i couldn't keep up nor attempt to catch up and cursed myself for not getting him from the front while he was in my rear-view mirror.

Up the road, the lights had now turned red and traffic was slowly coming to a halt. Mr Silver LFA who by now had spotted me in his mirrors began to slow down and by the time the rear-spoiler finished retracting i was door to door with him.

I hooted and gave dude a thumbs up and he responded with a smile and appeared not to mind my invasion of his privacy while my blackberry took snap after snap.

Was wondering if I'd ever get the front but the driver was kind enough to NOT move while i took a parting shot from my lane.......you can see the cars backed up behind him.

As traffic picked up speed, Mr Silver LFA closed the gap QUICKLY,came up behind me switched back to his original lane and blasted off down Holcomb Bridge rd towards GA 400 with the exhaust wailing.

To the driver of the Mr Silver LFA don't know if you'll get to see this but thank you for the encounter.

Safe Driving.
