It's not too bad, I like the interior, and I can definitely see the historical BMW cues, the similarity to the older coupes is obvious, especially the 2000 CS, it's just that's its not quite as sexy, or imposing as it could have been.
I'm looking forward to seeing the "9" series develop. |

I know its just a one off concept (thank god), but god dammit..like we didnt have enough huge heavy cars in the line up already. It seems like everything BMW thinks now its about heavy luxury cars..wasnt this a sports car brand to begin with? They might also look into yacht building as well..pretty promising field.
Call me when they come up with a 2 door mid-engine lightweight sports/supercar...not electric or hybrid btw. |

That interior looks sick! But is it only me, or isn't the exterior lines very "volvo"? I don't feel that BMW-edge, it's meeh, could have been so awesome, sadly, it isn't.

It doesn't matter if its ugly. It's exclusive to the point that you won't ever see one on the road to annoy you...there will only e single lucky man who will be able to enjoy this.
Not sure on how I feel about the exterior, kinda like it, but that interior looks amazing. |

Wow. Teaser pic was so promising but this final product is pretty bad (exterior). Interior looks pretty good though.

its like some idiot draws it up and another idiot creates it with no questions asked.Back end is hideous especially the tail lights and the front end seems like they just kept adding to it till it was full. horrible. But what do I know I am just a consumer.

It could have been a lot better. It's OK as a first attempt from BMW to experiment with a really big coupe (since the 8-Series times), there are obvious CS influences but in general it doesn't look too much like a BMW. This C-pillar has NO Hoffmeister kink. It's a Maserati, whatever kink. The front end, the kidney grill is OK but the headlights are not. Total mismatch. The rear, funnily enough, I find very nice. Just remove the strip that links the rear light bodies and you have an elegant rear end. Rear windows are too long and big, almost looks like a sedan with 2 doors. But I guess that's what you get at that CL-competitor class. A full sedan minus 2 doors.
The interior...it's just a 7-Series interior with EVEN more leather(as if there is not enough already in the standard model-whole cows actually!) and obviously has more attention to detail but nothing new to offer design-wise. And a hilarious steering wheel. Nothing special. For the new 7-Series interior they better take clues from the new S-Class interior. Looks OK as a basis to work on the new 7-series but really, this new 7-Series family (with all the carbon fibre, hybrid talk, etc) better be REVOLUTIONARY and not evolutionary because the new S-Class has raised the bar significantly. Having said that, I like the idea of a 7-Series family. Now we'll probably get a sedan, a coupe, a gran coupe, a cabrio and an SUV. It's quite a challenge to see how this is going to turn out. But I repeat, this new 7-Series family needs/has to be REVOLUTIONARY. Nothing less will do. Last edited by Faust; 05-25-2013 at 05:34 AM.. |

The car is gorgeous!
Excellent dimensions in regards with the statement that the design want to deliver, beautiful shape, wonderful front and rear. All the lines are fluid and combined in a very sexy manner, keeping the "moving" design as alive as it can be. This is the style that BMW should embrace for its new lines. If the new 4series will deliver a similar stance, I am hooked forever! |
