Totally boss and imposing, love love love it (even the big grille).

Just like 2001, the 7er is about to throw down the gauntlet again. Bravo BMW.

Very nice. Seems to be a little busy in the flight station. Gorgeous concept though. I like the use of the OLED.

Is this supposed to be a look at the design elements of the upcoming 9-Series?

Is the 8 series coupe going to come out before the 9 series? I wonder if the 6er is going to be completely Grancoupified once the 8er is out as BMW's premier 2-door offering.

BMW is so behind on everything. The new S63 AMG coupe looks like that and even better.

looks like the next generation of BMW cars might look stunning. Finally after Fxx car models fiasco they realized they need a revolution and not a boring money saving evolution.

I was asked that in Beijing.
Quite a lot of BMW enthusiasts there and great to meet a lot of you.

你好寶馬車迷。
Nǐ hǎo bǎomǎ chē mí.

Hypothetically it is the 9er , so if we are thinking about a 9er then surely there must be an 8er? Again hypothetically it would slot in status-wise? between the 7er and the 9er offering the best of both. And there is progressive opportunity for further variants.

The next 6er takes its place with the architecture developed in collaboration with Toyota but it will not lose out on lightweight advantages as these models will also feature a specially developed load bearing structure out of CFRP.

This is our new DNA. You will see many cars in this concept both from an engineering , exterior and interior perspective. Its important to clothe the outer skin to look as sporty and dynamic to reflect the new DNA's athleticism under the skin.

Essentially it is the new 7er but if you de-magnify you will also get the G30.

The exceptionally large kidney grille will not feature on the 7er. But it will be on the X7.
The X7 will be the luxurious SAV that is twinned with the new 7er, it is not going to be an extended X5.
de-magnify, nice!

I thought it was ugly until I actually watched the videos... wow big WOW

Only thing to bother me is I don't understand BMWs fetish with blue brake calipers?

Hardly! You just fail to understand the concept.

"Throughout, the design expresses both form and function of the innovative technologies. For example, the intelligent lightweight engineering concept of the BMW Vision Future Luxury is expressed in the design principle of subtractive modeling. That is to say, the specific geometry and functions of an individual component are created from one and the same layered composite structure, comprising many different levels and materials. An initial base layer of fine carbon fabric is followed by a functional level featuring user interface components, control and display interfaces and lighting functions, which in turn is followed by a further structural, load-bearing layer of aluminum for additional strength. Finally, the top layers comprise wood, then leather, to create a warm and comfortable ambience. In a given area of the interior, the multi-layer structure is “milled down” to the appropriate depth depending on what surface material and what function is required. Since the interior geometry is therefore always pared down to essentials, this cuts total weight substantially. This treatment also makes for virtually seamless transitions and very elegant, fluid surfaces."

It is obvious that this all means that the new, innovative, multi-layered, milled surfaces actually just gently breathe conditioned air upon the passengers though an undetectable system of laser-based infrared temperature probes that direct air silently and flawlessly to the areas of each passenger's body that is above or below the precise temperature of 21.1 Celsius.

So tell me how the front seats move to adjust to the driver? Yeah, I'm sure the pedals and steering wheel move instead (I hope BMW doesn't call that innovative too). Lastly, there is no way on God's green earth that a car will pass a side impact crash test with the B-pillar integrated into the seat frame as this design has (despite the use of the miracle material carbon fiber). The energy transfer into the seat back would instantly snap your spine in half.

"The carbon construction allows the seat frames to be integrated into the load-bearing structure. There are also connections to the door sills and centre console, which means only a very small and unobtrusive B-pillar is required. The BMW Vision Future Luxury’s wide- opening coach doors would not have been possible without this new carbon B-pillar solution." - This just totally cracks me up. LOL. The 1960's Lincoln Continental made a 4-door (coach rear doors) convertible with just a half B-pillar.
Good points all, and I thought the exact same thing when I saw it... Continental! BUT, I also see plenty of modern BMW DNA and overall I love it.
The interior is amazing.

Wonder if BMW will build it without B pillar. Some cars do not have any B pillar, but of course they are much shorter and less stiff. But with CF this problem could be solved.
