I gotta say the interior is sexy af! Main reason I even considered buying my C7 was the huge improvement in the interior from the C6. I always liked the C6 but couldn't get past that horrible interior.

I’m guessing it’s not much a surprise to most but glad to see Corvette take the pretty much meaningless title at this time. We’ll see how it does after they start hitting the streets and tracks for real.

Well of course it is. MT botched the dyno and published the 100% fake numbers, so they can't have the C8 NOT win, imagine how that would look. They have to do damage control, and picking the C8 is by far the easiest solution. Who cares anyway, R&T's car of the year is a Veloster N. It's all about opinion.

It looks abnormal from that last pic. 9' wide in rear and 5' wide up front. I guess it's not viewed from the drone angle on a daily basis.

You’re viewing the car from a foreground/ background aspect and it appears that way, foreground larger, background smaller. View any car from the angle it would be similar. https://www.bing.com/images/search?v...,6,8,10&sim=11

I happen to think it looks bad ass from any angle and I’m not concerned about the air scoops being too pointy. Boo-hoo

My problem is the rear end seems to be a few inches longer than it should have been. I can handle the door handle (lols pun intended), but dat a$$ ... damn I need a few beers ...

This is certainly reasonable considering the enormous amount of work needed to redesign the car into a mid-engine configuration, but it's a huge jump from the C7. In order to keep customers from revolting, Chevy is taking it on the chin and willingly losing money on every C8 it sells for less than $80,000. No doubt a factor in the C8's laundry list of options and dress-up parts is the hope buyers will load up their cars with extras and turn their $60,000 Stingrays into $80,000-plus Stingrays. The C8 Stingray Z71 3LT we tested rang up at $88,305.

More critical are the base prices of upcoming performance variants including Z06 and ZR1. According to our source, the sweet spot for profit and volume is between $80,000 and $100,000. Once the car crests six figures, our source says, sales volume drops off precipitously. This will be a trick for Chevrolet, because the C7 Z06 starts at $82,990, which doesn't leave the company much room for an increase without upsetting customers and breaking out of the sweet spot in price and volume. The C7 ZR1, meanwhile, already starts at $135,090, so Chevrolet has more discretion to price the C8 ZR1 knowing full well it will be a low-volume car.

Well we should thank all the suv/truck driver's subsidy...

Edit: now think about one more time, this is probably simplified accounting, don't think 80k is Cost of Good Sold, rather it's fixed cost allocate to expected volume

I just configured a C8 convertible with a sticker price of $ 92,615. It is a 3LT, Z51, front axle lift, magnetic ride, and painted black wheels. I am looking at transitioning from the F90 to this possible configuration.

At that price ($90K+ optioned) the value proposition all of a sudden swings right back in BMW's favor. If I'm looking for a performance vehicle that can double duty (this is me speaking) for track use, a BMW M2 Competition is about $20,000 less and can probably hold its own against a C8 on track in the hands of most advanced amateur HPDErs.

And it comes with usable back seats.

Or splurge and get a Cayman GT4.

Or save $30K and buy a used, low mileage C7 Grand Sport with 3LT and Z07 AND 7 speed manual.

This is what I plan to do. Just got to buy our next and last house first so the wife is happy. But she knows that once that is done, I plan to upgrade my current C6.

I second the M2 Comp. Sure the C8 may be about 2 seconds faster on the track, but the M2 will be 2 seconds better as a car - everything considered. I still maintain that if you're a BMW guy, you probably won't like the C8 just like you probably went with BMW with previous Corvette. If you read between the lines of all the reviews so far, the C8 albeit with the engine in the middle, still a Vette, through and through.
