We got a nice, heavy snow on Wednesday and the mountain bluebirds came down from the mountains to "warm up."

Kestrel are usually hard to approach, but, every year or so, one will let me follow it from mullein stalk to mullein stalk, over and over. Such was the case yesterday:

Shot after sundown, with my Sony a9, 400/f2.8, 2.0x teleconverter, handheld, at ISO 2500. I think this image is testimony to the a9's high-ISO performance, as well as the effectiveness of DxO's PRIME noise reduction.
