The iPhone 12 Pro Max in the house. This was shot with the wide angle lens, colors untouched, just resized for the forums.

It was clear out last night so I took the tripod out to my driveway and shot this before dinner. Sony A7R4 with adapted Canon 500mm+1.4 TC

Another moon shot! Not as crisp as Ed's, though.

Thanks! I'm trying to get more sharpness. I'm suspecting that I suffer from a slight bit of motion blur since I'm not using a shutter remote. The slight touch of the camera is probably just enough to cause the tripod head to have to re-settle, even w/ a 10s timer in effect. Or at least that's what I'm latching on to...

Could be, although I use the 3 second on my Sony's and it seems to work OK.

With the moon a lot depends on the atmosphere conditions of where you are at the time too.

I don't even have a remote for these cameras. There is probably an app or something for remote operation, but I am too lazy to figure that out for a moon shot. My main subjects are wildlife and that is all hand held.

Taken just 20 minutes after Sunset at Lossiemouth West Beach, close to Covesea Lighthouse. The colours were so strong and lasted such a long time. The colour also stretched all the way round from due South through West and North-West to due North. The most amazing Sunset I have seen for a long time.

I try to never go slower than 1/1000 and the higher the better, ideally 1/2500. It depends on light available of course and how high I am willing to let the ISO climb. I will go a lot higher on my A9 than on my A7r4 where noise shows up earlier.
