Awesome! How do you like it?

I will install them straight into a stud. Hell no am I going to install them straight into drywall with those molly's. It's just asking for a disaster to strike against my car.

I have a box of heavy duty lag screws with a washer already attached to it that I will use instead.

I bought one of these a few years ago. It does the job and I've been happy.

So far so good! And yeah, I have them in the little area between the garage door and the wall, so it’s not super close to my car and out of the way. I was fortunate enough to hit a stud, so I don’t have to worry about them falling and they are super secure. Great way to get stuff off the floor in areas that would otherwise be useless.

Good call on the placement. I might look at putting them between both of my garage doors. There is a little open area that I might be able to utilize, otherwise, I will install them where I had originally planned.

I went to the Seaport Farmers Market yesterday and happened upon a new vendor. They are a sheep farm and had all sorts of wool items on display. I bought a long-wool sheepskin for a seat cover for the "office". Sheepskins make the best seat covers IMO. My old one is over 30 years old now and has been through many vehicles and after a good wash will probably end up on my office chair in the house.

Phillips Hue Smart Floodlight. I already have one of these above the garage side door. It lights up the whole side yard when I go out at night. This one is going to go above the back door.

Got my MX Keys S keyboard. Very nice indeed. I instantly found it easier type on it. The only thing that's biting me is that being a hamfisted typist, I use the backspace key *a lot.* On this keyboard, the volume control for the speakers is right there above the backspace key. So I inadvertently turn the sound on when I'm typing. I habitually keep speakers on my machines muted. I suppose I'll get used to that, though.

I do a similar thing on my MacBook Pro laptop, which is not new, but only got it the end of last year. When I hit the shift key I will occasionally hit the caps lock key as well and then when I look up after a sentence or two everything's in caps. Didn't do that on my previous MacBook Pro.

I was struggling with it for a few days because it is overall smaller than the keyboard it replaced but I seem to have woken up adapted one day. I think you’ll get used to it.

I go into the keyboard settings and disable the Caps Lock key. I never need it, so it's easier to just kill it.

It was "Go to the Camera Shop" day combined with Amazon day at the house:

Finally pulled the trigger on a new Sony A6700 APS-C camera with 18-135/f3.5-5.6 OSS lens and a few other goodies.

HGX Prime 55mm UV filter
Sony battery charger
Spare Sony battery
Sandisk 128GB UHS-II SDXC card
SmallRig bottom mount plate
3-pack screen protector
SmallRig wrist strap
Soft release shutter button
Camera strap mounts w/ protective shields
Two camera storage cases (not pictured-- I need to see which one I like.)

We're headed for a long weekend in Napa in a few weeks. My buddy is a Canon guy who's into photography, so we're going to play around with my new toy while our wives get schnockered on wine.

In May, we're headed to France to see Taylor Swift with two other couples and we're going to spend a few extra days to see Paris, the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame and Giverny. That should give me a pretty good range of shooting to see how I like the 18-135 lens. Surprisingly, it's gotten excellent reviews (unlike the 16-50 kit lens-- that one's a dog.)

I downsized from four cameras to one, so this is going to be my "single arrow in the quiver" from here on out. I'm also going to set up a dive rig for it, but that's a) terrifyingly expensive and b) not really needed until the fall. You think setting up the basic camera and lenses is hard? Hoo-boy, you ain't seen nuthin' yet. Underwater photography is a *bugger* to figure out-- especially if you're trying to within sight of a budget and you have to design it as a travel rig. The dive housing is camera specific (and NOT cheap). Then there's the strobes. Some work with some housings, some don't. Since I want TTL with my strobes, I can't get the ones I wanted-- but the ones that are $300 more EACH will work.

Ugh. Hobbies are hard.

R.

Popcorn used to be my favorite snack but I don't eat it anymore. Occasionally get the popcorn kernel skin caught in my teeth under my gums. Difficult sometimes to get out. Had to go to my dentist a couple times for assistance even though I have a dental kit to help dislodge the little bastards.

ALMOST pulled the trigger on a new set of GrillMates for the BBQ. But then I realized I haven't fired up the grill for several months. Since it's just the wife and I, 2 steaks fit in a cast iron skillet, and taste better that way too!
