Captured from the I-80W rest area at Echo Utah, during the first Uhaul run to my new house. Eastbound freight train climbing the grade through some pretty spectacular scenery.

This is the same lookoff. Yeah the twists are great fun in the car. I can only imagine them on two wheels. I tried to get the car up on two wheels but my friend was screaming too much.

Cape Smokey's steep descent can be a real bitch when you have a big RV with overheating brakes on your ass.

There was a lot of road construction going on between Ingonish Ferry and Wreck Cove when we went through so we were stuck behind a follow-me truck on one of the best sections of the trail. It was a shame because all of the asphalt was brand new, they were working on finishing the guardrails and signs. Now that it's finished it might even be worth a trip up there to run the road at about 3am when there's nobody around. The darkness would add a little more excitement to it too.

I had to do Dallas to here once to fish my son and his stuff out of TX. My credit cards cried and locked up since I had to get gas every few hours. The CC companies didn't like the looks of that.
One thing I did like about the trip on I40 was all those UP/BNSF trains every 30 min. I was at the Continental divide and they must have had welded tracks because that train was quiet.
Enjoy the cold and hope the boys get an electric blankie.

With the Jeep it was gas about 4 times a day
But, 2,500 pounds of stuff and the Jeep are now waiting in Maine. All told it was about 3 grand in hotels, gas, trailer rental and return airfare. Considering they wanted 2,500 just to ship my Subaru, I am figure I am money ahead. The POD arrives in a couple of weeks to handle the bulk of the household. The kitties will be riding shotgun in my old 2008 Honda Odyssey next month.

In this part it sure is. This is the eastern half in between Cheyenne and the Nebraska border on I-80. The highway had just opened back up after being closed for days due to a blizzard.

I spent some time spring detailing my cars this weekend. Zaino is still the business. Here's a shot of my hood.

Carl is modeling his harness here before a practice ride in the van. We are getting the boys ready for a three thousand plus mile road trip here in a couple of weeks, when we relocate to Maine, so we are getting them used to wearing harnesses. Big life changes ahead for my senior kitties (and me)!
