I have a lot of chipmunks reeking havoc on everything in our yard and garden. Not sure how else to take care of them.

Had a big strike last July. Lightning jumped from a tall pine to the cable 10' away and followed it inside. Took out the modem, everything on ethernet and the phone system connected to the modem. Popped all my GCFI circuits and the 20 amp breaker that the modem was plugged into. Took out a 60" TV, Sony soundbar/surround system, garage door opener, all my low voltage landscape lights, a Yamaha home theater system and multiple wall warts, garage led lighting, battery tender, etc.

I really stepped up my game on AC surge suppressors after that, even installing a commercial grade gig-speed ethernet surge suppressor on my main ethernet line to the home theater area.

Check your ground strap outside for the cable service. Note the scorching on the pic where it was grounded to the electrical service box (for some reason the picture uploaded upside down). I've since cleaned up and tightened my connection. The cable grounding block was toast and the cable itself. . The insurance claim was around $6K.

That shit happened in east Fort Worth years ago when we were in a sound room and the fire went down the cable coaxial, all the electrical wiring and lit up a 12 channel mixer that was turned off and lit up/stunned the guitar player who had a Fender Stratocaster in hand.......fire department came in and photographed everything....the guitar player was in shock for about 10 minutes. lucky no one got hurt

Telecom grounding is a paramount issue. MCI would go out to IXC carrier sites that carried their traffic. 6 foot round rods, solid copper into the earth, salt mixed bath to increase continuity, multiple with stranded 00 solid strand copper joining them in a circular pattern. Then the Meghometer was used to verify ground specifications. Ground lugs and splice joints are crimped with bottle type jacks. Yes, jacks. Tons of pressure to insure proper continuity.

When I was in Houston, 1989, at 293 North Main, Electra Communications/IXC/Broadwing (building razed) I seen the entire site light up for a millisecond. The entire roof (rubber roof) had lighting rods and again all joined by 00 stranded solid copper. Lighting hits hard in DT Houston! Both White Oak and Buffalo Bayou both came together there. The OG original Port of Houston was right across I-10 on Main Street. A true experience living there. Telecom gear uses tri-color, red alarming LCD. Everylight in that site lit up. I thought I was tripping.......instantaneous!

Very nice. I've been wearing Merrells for years. They're incredibly comfortable and last for hundreds of miles.

Oui, that company ship with the handle detached to save on the packaging but always included a screwdriver of pretty good quality as you know first hand.

As for the flame thrower, bad neighbours... Stay tuned

I have one. I use it to zap weeds. Although with all the rain we've been getting, the weeds are back in a few days.
