Haha you remember that! Yeah, well now I'm desperately in love with the C63, and I have very high hopes from AMG if this is the sign of a new direction.

The materials are all soft to the touch, and the layout is functional yet still good looking in a mature sort of way. The guages are legible, functional and stylish. The controls are all very ergonomic. The COMAND system utterly blows away iDrive once you really get a feel for how it works. The nav screen is very large, and very high-res, and the map looks anti-aliased (why is the iDrive the only nav without AA?). The COMAND knob is actually very nice to the touch and it has a very solid feel about it. In fact, everything about the car just feels solid. The seats, which have integrated headrests, are the best I've ever experienced in my life. The bolsters are what I've always wanted in our cars. I've complained on this forum about our cars lack of reach with the bolsters, well it's perfect in this. There are multiple lumbar adjustments, and the seats can be very snug if you want them to be. *Apparently there was a guy on MBWorld complaining about the seats being way too snug. Well, I'm 6' 210lbs and the seats are simply perfect. No problems here.* The driving position is nice, and the steering wheel can be automatically adjusted, something the M3 doesn't have. The steering wheel itself is impressive. I remember stating on this forum that Audi and BMW make the best designed steering wheels imo, but now I think this is a top contender. It's perfect in size shape and design. The shortcut buttons on the dash are useful for the COMAND system, and A/C controls are slightly awkward. Overall, I'd rate the interior 9.9/10 with the M3's at about a 9.5. The seats are just so good.

The C300/350's are missing the looks, the engine, the suspension, the brakes, the seats, the steering feel, and so much more. There's no comparions. That's it. End of story. It's like comparing our 335i's with M3's, but in my opinion even worse, because the gap is humongous between the C350's and the C63's.

Sorry bud, but in the real world I'd beg to differ. Straight line, no contest (actually I can't claim that), and in the twisties I think the C has enough to keep up with the M3. If you dare drive these cars to their absolute limits through winding roads then I think you're insane. I mean, going all out, 10/10ths.

And with a quick tune-up of the ECU, you should easily be able to unleash the rest of the engine's detuned power. It is essentially the same engine in the rest of the MB lineup, so 500+ is not outta the question.

Sweet car! What do you think about the exterior on a scale of 1-10 vs. M3?

I still love the M3's body more, but only by just a little.

Oh, yeah I was wondering what does the fuel econ say on the window sticker? I was thinking about one of these possibly for later on, (keeping one M3). MORE PICS?

Nah man just relax! Take it easy for a while, enjoy the new ride for a couple of days, and this weekend do a little photoshoot and post some nice interior/exterior shots for us! That would be ideal. Please!

Vids are gonna be hard for me to do.
One, my Pearl is retarded and doesn't have video. Two, my brother's cam (aka family cam) is HD and I have nooo idea how to upload that online. Three, I have to find a reason to let my mom take her car and mine out at the same time, which isn't gonna be easy. Photos I can do though.

Oh yeah, how do you upload images from a Nikon D40 here?
I tried using CS2 to downsize em, but I don't know how. There's a whole bunch of people here that know their stuff when it comes to DSLR's, and I could use some sort of guideline when it comes to uploading pics. Oh yeah, any special pic request? Like up close shots of anything?

The 335i is the 2nd from best 3 series and the C350 is the second from best C class. Both the M3 and C63 are far and away superior cars to their next underlings. How is the comparison any different?

I'm pretty sure that was the original comparison. The difference is, IMO, that a C350 is slower than all of its competition and a 335i is faster than all of its competition. An M3 is slower than some of its competition and the C63 is the fastest damn sedan ever. You see plenty of 335is on this board that could keep up with an M3 but you wont see one C350 that will ever keep up with a C63. Never! And you can make the twistys argument, but not everyone lives out west where there are roads that bend and tracks to visit. America is a land of stoplights, interstates, and dragstrips. And in this land... the C63 is king of the hill.

the recent vids on this car and especially this thread have made me re-think getting an M3 instead of C63...
for some reasons though i always see the lower model range AMGs as girls cars (C63, SLK55, CLK55/CLK63 - borderline). it especially doesnt help since the car is for your mom my sister drives an E63 but that car is nowhere near girly |
