Not that 500 plus million isn’t enough money but that’s about what you would end up with after everyone gets their cut. I also heard the lotto just made it a lot harder to win. This is why we are seeing these bigger jackpots.

Kevin O'Leary from Shark Tank fame was on TMZ speaking about what I should do when I win. He basically said take the lump sum and put the after tax money in AAA bonds. He roughly estimated that if I live only on interest I'll have about ~$1.5 million a month to spend.

I could retire on that.

Oh I would definitely quite my job. My post was more about how much the government and state would take.

So, this is one of those six degrees from Kevin Bacon type posts but my wife just called me on her way to the supermarket, she had just left Curves and said that a couple of women there knew the guy who actually did win. He told them he had left his ticket at work and went over very early this morning to get it. I think she said he was a maintenance supervisor somewhere. Damn, I bought tickets for the last two drawings but not this last one, totally forgot. I could have won hundreds.

Edit. It was one woman who knew him who said he was a line supervisor not a maintenance supervisor. Hope he’s not the guy responsible for supervising making my G05 being built as I type.

I find it very odd and suspicious that only ONE winning ticket was sold for the entire Jackpot. And that it happens to be in a state that allows the winner to remain annoymous...
