It's not even in production yet; how is it the NA car of the year?

Here's a 35 second drive by video of the C8 Z06 flat crank. Sounds angry.

That straight up sounds like a Ferrari flat plane crank. Not the Voodoo in the GT350.

The Voodoo is handicapped by a single airbox for reasons I don't understand. The Fezza and presumably the Vette will have dual airboxes.

And thats barely under throttle, just a little tease, they’re going to make us wait to hear it really spun up.
We can get a much better listen to the new Chevrolet flat crank V8 opened up this weekend at Daytona in the new C8R. Obviously it’s not the same as the street engine but not that far off.

Honestly the wheels on the new C8 isn't what I'd call "attractive."

I guess now they're using the more common 5x120 instead of the Corvette only 5x 4.75" bolt pattern, these will be easy target for a lot of wheel thieves.

I mean, they're both mid engines cars. One looks slightly melted and feminine though. Admittingly I find the 430 to be the low point of mid engine Ferrari's outside of the Mondial.

I certainly see some of it in the front end. The rest is pretty different, at least for two comparably situated cars.

I’m going to say no for the SS 1LE wheels. People ask me if they are aftermarket and I like them much better than the ZL1/ZL1 1LE wheels. The massive dish looks great IMO and is accented by the design. Only wish they were 19 and not 20.

First Corvette rolls off the line

This is big for Chevy

Production for the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette is officially underway. Chevy marked the occasion with a tweet (how else?) from the assembly plant in Bowling Green, Ky.

Late last year, Chevy announced that production would be delayed until February 2020 due to the UAW strike. It looks like that prediction was right on time, as we see production C8s on the first Monday of the month. Hallelujah.

Those folks who were among the first to order their 2020 Corvettes should see them begin to filter into dealers as Chevy builds up inventory over the coming weeks. That also means we get to start seeing them on the streets. It may be winter time in the north, but temperatures have been warm enough that taking out the brand-new Corvette doesn't seem like the worst idea in the world — it does ship with all season tires as standard after all.

The tweet doesn't make it clear that the Corvette pictured is the actual first production C8, but we've asked Chevy for photos of that car. The vehicle in question is headed to Rick Hendrick, who bought VIN No. 1 at the 2020 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction.

I really wish I liked the side of that car more, but the botched side styling, the fact that it looks like a damn Ferrari mixed with a Lamborghini mixed with an NSX...only not as good as any of those, and it's mid-engined...which is decidedly un-American (if you ask me), just puts it out of my wheelhouse.

Too bad, they finally fixed the interior, and the performance is fantastic for the dollar.

They won't have any problem selling it.

I bet the ZO6 will look pretty awesome. They always have to make the base model look a little wimpy.
