I gave a look for it in a Safeway last week--no dice.

Alright, went by the World Bev store today to stock up as I was running thin.
-1.75L Woodford Reserve so I always have something good to sip on -Plantation 5 year, after searching for the 20 unsuccessfully but I have to say; I am drinking it neat right now and it's delicious. No need for the 20 if you ask me. Ignorance is bliss I guess! Definitely never thought rum could be so smooth. -Basil Hayden's for a shake up in the evenings. Cheers! |

Opened the Plantation 20 tonight. Good stuff as always.
mxa121, see if you can find the Plantation Pineapple. Also very tasty and smooth.

Had Woodford Reserve Double Oak tonight with dinner (3 to be exact). I'll have to look for a bottle of that when I get home.

Had an 8 hop IPA with lunch at Rogue Public House in Astoria, OR. Very tasty indeed. I would have had another, but I had to drive to the hotel after lunch, so...

Pendergast Royal Gold Bourbon tonight. I've been wanting to try it for awhile, and finally did while getting the wife some Summer Shandy.
The RG has quite a floral nose, and not typically my style. I'm probably in the minority of bourbon drinkers that like it a touch sweet with caramel hints. |

Ladies and gentlemen... We have a contender to the magnificent Plantation XO 20!
My local store manager contacted me and held one 0f 3 bottles of this he just received. Not only have I never heard of the brand (and I am part of the largest Rum forum on the web) I was hesitant to spend Cognac XO $$ on it. But I did. And I am very pleased! I will preface by saying that although not as smooth of a finish as my beloved Plantation, it does exude more character and complexity. More dried fruit, caramel and some spice at the finish. The nose is more full of aromas than Plantation as well. Absolutely sip only worthy! Although it won't dethrone my "Best Spirit on Earth", it definitely is worthy of Special Occasions and a fantastic rum and gorgeous bottle! Retail: $75 for .750ml |
