And Hensseys work is barely a week from the first cars hitting the dealers. As always with Corvette all the usual builders will be turning this car into Mr. Hyde.

Who is this guy? Is it really a "transmission tunnel" when there is no transmission or driveshaft there? Or is it part of the spine that makes the car so stiff. More clickbait.

I'll be concerned, but not really, when I see something similar from Randy Pobst.

Raging Bull vs. America’s sports car.
Comparing the two newest editions of cars built for street and track work, one born in Bolognese the other Bowling Green and an interesting result. The underdog new world car handles itself very well against the much higher priced beast in this preliminary test. The Scrappy American more than held its own. I can’t wait to see what they do with the Z06 no doubt it’s going to be a giant killer.

I would like to counter that with a $165k C8. https://inlandempire.craigslist.org/cto/d/pomona-2020-chevrolet-corvette-3lt-z51/7099894515.html

Lots of people with hopes of some easy cash.

Wonder how that will change production schedules. Would later ones be pushed to 2021 model ? For same price ? Virus is going to mess things up,I am afraid.

Rumors continue to swirl. Half the people in corvette forums say if you are status 3000, you’re still getting a 2020 C8 and they can build 2020s through September, like they did with the 2019s. Others are saying anyone with an order will get pushed to a 2021 whenever the factory starts up. Orders for 2021s start May 31st unless anything else changes.

Let's chart how fast that car goes from 165 to 10 (in terms of dollars, haha)

I like where Chevy is going with Corvette! There's just something ingrained in me that will never allow me to own one.

Hennessy, a respected name in the Corvette world. A quick clip of the Company’s latest creation only about a month in from the C8 release. Looks like a very nice FI setup and they’re just getting started.

Well chevy's test driver had no issue, so unless I see a lot more people complain about the same thing I'll reserve my judgement

I personally know quite a few who have owned some that some still own Hennessey Corvettes, I’ve driven in them, driven two and raced against a few. I hear little complaints from these owners and others that like and trust the company. If you’re the type that believes everything you read on forums then you better sell your BMW really quick because they get trashed all the time. Lol that

I don’t think you know what he’s referring to.

Problem isn’t the actual ownership, but Hennessey’s business practices. Google THAT.

I know I’ve heard that, and the people I mentioned have no complaints with them. On Corvette forums there is some squawking but not much and I can’t discount what they say but also I don’t dismiss a brand because some claim to have had bad dealings with company’s. BMW owners are notorious for bad mouthing the company and many others do it with other brands, it’s par for the course. Much of it is the squeaky wheel thing. Can’t please everybody, every time. Again the guys I know from forums and personally have no complaints with their dealings with them.

A good write up for the C8 here and comparing it Lamborghini Huracan. Nobody cross shopping these two but a good read anyway. https://www.automobilemag.com/news/2...n-test-review/

No doubt it's a value as the last few generations of Corvettes. I like to wait a few years and see what the comparisons are like once the shine wears off a little.

This goes WAY beyond a few owners. Hennessy is basically running a massive pyramid scheme. Whatever money one sends the company for a build now is paying for parts from a build 12 months behind on payment. This stuff is well documented, and it’s only gotten worse in the last few years.

There were PLENTY of stories on how it’s basically a crapshoot whether or not you’ll actually get the car built, or if you have to sue the company to get your car back. Seriously, GOOGLE it up. It’s scary how people continue to fall prey to their practices.

When I used to work in the industry, it was basically implied that Hennessy models himself after Carrol Shelby, but not the “good” part of Shelby, but the shady as f**k business practices.
