This may not be popular with many people but I view the 4GC and 3GT as very similar cars with slightly different roof heights and lengths. I was surprised at how small the 4GC was when compared to a 3 Touring when I first looked at the luggage area.
On a slightly different topic, BMW make the 3 and 5 chassis in different wheelbases for the different shapes. The G20 will have a long wheelbase sedan as well for the Chinese market and the G38 is already available there and in Mexico but of course only sedans. I wonder what the appetite would be for a long wheelbase sedan or even a 4GC with the 4” extension to help practicality and I feel it would enhance the looks further. But keep it the same height as the normal sedan or GC in that range. Of course it also makes me thing of a long wheelbase touring as well but I doubt that would sell anywhere. |

In the minority obviously... but we've had 2 Gt's... loved them both and the styling as well.
As a family vehicle it was fantastic... ton's of space, was still fun to drive. Fit our needs perfectly, gonna miss it. |

This ^^^..... 100% agreed. It's not a vehicle for traditional enthusiasts and that's ok, it didn't need to be. The only reason we didn't get a 3rd one is because we needed a vehicle to tow with.

It’s a sad world when people start avoiding buying the things they want or doing the things they want when they worry what others think. The main reason I’m not on Facebook is that I don’t care what other people do, buy or eat, and don’t care what anyone thinks about anything in my life. |

I think most people went "yeah i get it why they dropped it, it never looked right, and probably was too niche" + "it looksl like a fish"... All the 6 pages of hate comments are just hyperbole, Id have thought the reasonable lot of you now indignant about hate comments would actually get that...

I'm waiting for the 2 door coupe version of a 4 door coupe which is the sedan version of a coupe based on a sedan.

Excellent, now get rid of the 4GT and 5...I mean 6GT while you're at it BMW!
Terrible looking cars that served no purpose in the lineup. Niche for a niche, and BMW needs to trim the fat already. |

The GT's drive character is between sedans and suv's
I have actually driven the BMW sedans GT's and X3, X5, X6 etc. I can basically tell you that the GT's split the difference between the two. And its logical and doesn't make make one model better than the others. Their height, weight and thus center of gravity is between the two. Only handing difference is that they are longer but you barely notice it. It makes highway cruising more stable but handling a bit less in small towns and tight areas than the sedans. The engines, transmission, all major components are the same throughout BMW's line. The GT's are a bit lighter for the space they afford than the X series. Honestly they are more practical and far more exclusive because they did not sell in large numbers. I think they are great cars and highly recommend anyone looking at them.
