We were on a week-long camping vacation at one of the state's island camping sites on the lake. The only way there was by boat, and there was no telephone, no electricity, and no running water.

About mid-week, we took my boat into one of the small towns to hit up the grocery store (tiny place, only 8 aisles) for deli sandwiches and dinner supplies.

In the store, the kid snapped. She was running around wild through those 8 aisles, screaming at the top of her lungs! Picture the scene in that small town of four tourist adults chasing that greased pig through the 8-aisle store for 5-10 minutes. Once her father had her restrained in a bear hug, she started biting him and screaming for help saying that we were trying to kidnap her! Enter the local police, and we wasted 30 minutes of our vacation showing all of our ID's for the police report along with the parents proving the kid was theirs.

No sooner did we leave the dock (with kid wearing a life jacket) and stow the fenders for the trip back to the island to eat our deli lunch sandwiches, I saw the kid reach into one of the shopping bags and pull out a bag of greasy pre-popped popcorn. I told her to put it back and wait until we docked on our island, because it would blow all over the boat once we got up to speed and stain up the teak deck. Five minutes after we cleared the marina area and were at full cruise, I was pelted in the head by a debris cloud of popcorn that was swirling through the whole inside of the boat.

I pulled the throttle to neutral, coming to a complete stop in the middle of the lake. Then, I turned to the kid, and sternly told her that "I thought that I said to leave the popcorn in the shopping bag until we were back on the island, so that it wouldn't blow all over the place and stain the teak deck?" Her response was to dump the remaining contents of the bag onto the deck...and then start smashing it into the deck with her feet like she was crushing grapes to make wine!

Now, do you think that *I* am a sick bastard for tossing the kid overboard???

Tell me that you wouldn't have done the exact same thing if that kid mashed greasy popcorn into the carpet of your X6!

The kid was 100% out of control, and even the parents were unable to make her act civil for most of that trip. They were shocked by my action for sure, but we were friends for years after that. FWIW, the kid ran away from home and was pregger by the time she turned 16.....
You sir, are my hero.

This is where I'll either get a laugh or some hate thrown my way. I am that guy that trips kids that run in stores or hit people intentionally with my shopping cart. If your kid is unruly in a public place and runs past me...he will fall flat on his face, this I assure you. Now, if it's a kid just running because he is in hurry because of whatever reason, this is different. Also, the shopping cart business; if a person is walking directly toward me in a store and refuses to move and expects me to divert for them (especially if a.) they don't have a shopping cart, b.) are too busy looking at their phone to pay attention where they are walking or c.) walking abreast 3-wide down an aisle and expect everyone to get out of the way) I will not waver and will continue my course of a straight line. If my cart makes contact with you.....and hard, I will not apologize. I will move out of the way for people who are paying attention or actually shopping. I also say excuse me and very polite to most everyone; however, if you're an ass and think that it's my job to avoid you in life, I hope that bruise from my cart heals quickly and you learn to respect other people. I'm just out here trying to teach people how to live in society is all. Pay attention to your surroundings.

It would be so much fun to walk down the street in Edinburgh with you. I have never seen such aggressive pedestrians in my life. I was there with a friend a couple of years ago. We walk everywhere when we travel so we spent a lot of time walking around the city. We don't wander, we walk, so it's not that we were disrupting the flow in any way. People just seemed to go out of their way to get in your way. It got to the point that my friend would walk directly behind me so I could deflect people as they approached. It's was not that the sidewalks were full either. There was plenty of room for everyone.
I'm not a huge man but I am frequently described as intimidating and as a biker. After a couple of days of sidewalk bumper cars I was fed up with being a typical "polite" Canadian. I decided that I wasn't going to give way to the obvious jerks anymore. It got fun after that. I had one guy walking towards me on a nearly empty sidewalk who I was in direct eye contact with for over 20ft. Six feet from me he took two diagonal steps to get right in my path, still looking me straight in the eye. The look on his face when he realized I wasn't about to move or slow down was priceless. He didn't quite land on his ass but it was close. He then had the nerve to cuss me out.
We were there for a week and after the first two days it was much more enjoyable. I had a new game to play. I called it Pedestrian Chicken, and I like to win.

.....and this is what starts this mindset.

I have more fun in public than anyone I know. We went for lunch and shopping after the girlfriend got off work Saturday afternoon. As we stood in a busy aisle smelling candles, I have a tendency to say the first thing that crosses my mind (there's good and bad with this, the good - it's usually hilarious, the bad - I stay in trouble), I remember telling the girlfriend that one candle smelled like "pre-sex grandpa" (think freshly showered old man with too much cologne) and several women in the aisle started laughing...I made them smell the candle and they suddenly agreed. There were several others that people couldn't help but laugh at, "Grandma's Night at the Strip Club" and "I Knew I Should Have Thrown That Away."

I try to have fun everywhere I go, whether it's at some asshole's expense or my own.

Jane, sorry for the thread jacking. Do we have a picture of you when you realized motorcycles were the way of life?

You sir, are a man after my own heart!!

I had to do this in the museum on my date. Yes...I took my date to a museum because we are both nerds. Lol!

But to your point, the feckless wanderers were ridiculous as we were trying to leave. What I did was take her hand in my right hand, twist my arm so she was directly behind me and went into Terminator mode. I had my left arm up before me and just moved people to one side or another as we cut a swath through the crowd. She liked my assertiveness and take-charge, protective attitude. Also, she hates crowds because she has had her butt slapped and been felt-up so often.

Pedestrian Chicken...I'm adding this to my vocabulary!!

The only time that I will intentionally "enlighten" a pedestrian is at the top of an escalator. Why do people come to a complete stop and stand blocking the top/bottom platform trying to decide which way they want to go? Couldn't they use the entire ride up/down to figure this out? More than once, I have fore-checked someone well clear of an escalator platform for stopping. It is a public safety matter, because the people still on the escalator approaching the platform might start falling backwards like dominoes if they collide with the platform-stopper.

I've also been known to drop a paparazzi and photographer or two over the years. I dare not ever go back to Dominica, out of fear that they have a warrant out for me because I planted a cruise ship's assistant photographer (dressed in a parrot costume) into the pier for trying to stop me for a picture when I clearly communicated that I was not interested a few seconds earlier. No means no.....

What's with all these pictures trying to show yourself in a rosey light??? Let's see your REAL pics as a kid.

This is what happens when your parents leave you alone with your much older sister and cousins - all women of course.

I'm not sure what's worse, my outfit or their carpet and furniture.

But way of life...? When I figured out that a woman was sexier on a motorcycle than a bunch of make-up. But I could be wrong. he he he...

I knew you had one somewhere.

Every thread here is thread jacking thread, especially the ones I participate in.

.....and you are correct, a woman is much sexier on a bike than a bunch of make up. I mean, who goes around putting make up on bikes anyway.
