I dont hate the cars, i just dislike the drivers mainly, and its mostly Tc's that act foolish around me, and then gun off when i just look at them and smile when I deny their challenge to a race...makes me laugh and them look stupid.

But i understand ChrisV's point of view. Hate really is too strong of a word. I think it should just be disliking the cars design, or performance. Hate would be like....lets see...Ahh, it would be more like your gf/bf cheats on you and then tries to lie, that should be hate lmao. And no i dont have personal experience on that subject thank you very much lol

Also the H2 and H3. I just don't get it. They aren't any more capable than a Chevy pickup (same mechanicals) and they're all about form and no function.
Actually yes they are. The H2 Hummer can even climb an 18" vertical wall and the rest of the things in this video. I think you need to do more homework before making such bold statements.

and when exactly do you see a hummer doing that? any hummer i ever see has 24" rims driven by someone that is overcompensating for something.

I dislike (aka hate)

-Vanos failures

-Rear subframe failures

-230hp for $40,000 without being stripped with fake leather

-Run flat tires

-Window molding failures

-Fuel pump failures

well... you get the idea.

You don't have to see it ever DOING any of that, the poster said that they are not any more capable than a GM Truck off road, when in fact they are far more capable than that AND most of the competition. He hated it for being fashionable not functional. What someone choses to do with a STOCK car is their business.

tru, but the appeal of hummers usually aren't because of their offroad capabilities...it's all about having the biggest hog on the road.

and what is the main appeal for people to buy mercedes benz? bmw? audi?

To have the biggest shlong on the road? Your argument can sway toward ANY vehicle.

Corolla = I am too good for SUV's, YAY gas mileage

BMW = I drive the ultimate driving machine, so even if I do have a small peener, am slower and my window molding is going to fall off. I STILL drive the ultimate driving machine... says umm, says BMW! AND NO MY PEENER IS BIG IT IS!

Escalade = I have a small peener, this will hide it.

etc

That video is hilarious; that is, laughing at it not with it. And I have done my homework, the H2 is built on a GM pickup/SUV platform and shares many of the same mechanicals. BTW, if you know the height of the tire, you'll know that isn't an 18" wall. Interesting, that the competitors in that video were on street tires, not on off road tires like the silly H2. They also chose competitors with off-road unfriendly accessories like trailer hitches and side skirts. The Range rover they used was a Rover sport which isn't even designed to go off road, they didn't pick a Range rover. I noticed they didn't put a Wrangler Rubicon into the mix. They didn't even demo an agility maneuver around tree and rocks, why...because the H2 is so huge it's not maneuverable around obstacles off road. It might be OK if you're driving through a treeless desert, but no good anywhere there are trees. My '97 Expedition with 4 wheel load leveling suspension could probably do everything in that video if I took off the running boards, trailer hitch and put on some BFG All-terrains. In fact I have done most of that, including fording water deeper than demo'd in that video.

I recommend watching that video again with a more critical eye. It may or may not change your mind. But to me the H2 and H3 is a joke. All show, no go.

It's not like most Hummer owners take their vehicles off road anyhow.

I drive the real Hummers for a living and I'd rather drive a M1008 which is the military version of a Chevy pickup. That is unless of course the Hummer has a 50 cal mounted to it.

you should watch the video where jeremy clarkson goes to america and tests the escalade, hummer h2, and the range rover. the ranger rover kicked everyone of those cars ass in the test

but at the same time, clarkson has a british car hard on. you can edit anything to look zomg awesome. although range rover is a nice car, i don't think it's as capable off road as a hummer would be. plus, reliability dept, escalade or hummer wins by a healthy distance (i know from personal experience.)

The height of that wall didn't have to be 18 inches because GM did the test and pitched it to there customers, they even had the wall at their dealerships for the Hummers to go through to show

You drive real Hummers for a living? Oh yeah? Really? That's sooo NEAT. Maybe I should join the Army or something? Ohhh that's right, already did that a while ago. Did you seriously just try to explain to me what X version was to Y in regards to the Military? Or did you think my sig pic was just because I was a wannabe?

You said that the H2 was less capable than a Chevy truck...

I showed you it was not

Why did they not show a Rubicon? Hmm maybe because I Rubicon does not fit that "Full sized SUV" demographic, youre right though they should have put that in there with a Land Rover Defender in thereee and oh an old FJ Cruiserrrr in thereee and maybe a modified Scout in thereee.

Why the fuck would they need to put a Full sized family suv through high flex maneuvers anyways?

And youre statement is still respectable because "oh gee wiz most owners don't even take there stuff off road anyways"? How do you know, is there a statistic some where from when they ASKED the owners of the H2 and other said vehicles "How many of you take your shit off road and see what it can do"?

"They used a Range Rover Sport which isnt even designed to go off road?"

are you fucking serious? did you not see the top gear where they used the RR sport to go up against a tank and it tackled some pretty serious terrain.

But you just want to be right. So you will throw every desperate "factable (things youve said that you make someone SOUND like they should believe it) to make yourself sound right.

I'm not saying the H2 and H3 is the most capable off road vehicle EVARRRR I am simply saying that you are dumb for trying to say that they are ALL SHOW and NO go. They clearly do well in the off road sector of things. And you had the balls to say your EXPEDITION COULD DO BETTER?! I had an expedition, they are a HOT MESS off road.

Oh and heres a vid with your MANEUVERS: youre right, I bet a Silverado can do that...

and the H3

Wow, holy anger issues Batman. I guess we can't have a debate without huge emotion? Do you work for GM or Hummer? Why the huge beef about my comments/opinions?

A few corrections since you misquoted me or took my comments out of context.

1. I made no capability comparisons between a military version of the Hummer and the civilian version, I simply stated that I prefer to drive/deploy in a M1008, GM Pickup rather than a military Hummer. However if I was driving around Iraq or Eastern Afghanistan my choice would be different.

2. I didn't say that an H2 or H3 had less capability than a GM Truck or SUV, I said they had similar capabilities or that the H2/H3 had no more capability. BTW, I didn't mean to refer to the Suburban or Yukon XL because the extra length is a big handicap offroad.

3. Yes, I believe that if they're trying to demonstrate the off-roading prowess of the Hummer, they should compare it to more capable competition. Clearly the RR sport and the Lexus aren't designed with serious off-roading in mind, the kind demonstrated in the video. Plus, as I mentioned, all the other vehicles had street rubber on them, no wonder they got stuck in the mud. That part was laughable, since it was more of a demo of tire traction than vehicle capability.

4. Again I didn't say my Expedition could do better, I said it could probably make it through that obstacle course.

5. Lastly, someone must be asking how much people take their vehicles off road, because I've seen the stat multiple times that they are rarely taken off-road.

You may want to reread my comments with a little more objectivity and less emotion.

You haven't changed my opinion of the H2/H3 one bit, to me they are still GM trucks with Tonka truck bodies.

On a much more serious note: Thank you for your service.
