Mine went to assembly line as well. I’m very happy it’s moving along faster than expected. I was going back and forth between alpine and dune but I guess I don’t have to worry about that anymore. Alpine it is. I couldn’t bring myself to commit to the dune gray without seeing it in person.

I ordered through a BMW dealer. So the order is not shown in my BMW account. I only have the order number from the dealer.

Here we can use the order number to ask BMW Genius via the web chat function on the BMW UK website. |

Has anyone seen ads for their "local" dealers on Instragram advertising launch preview parties for lack of a better term. I've seen BMW of Darien and NYC/Manhattan come up as sponsor ads on my feed. Sadly not my local dealer....October 10 and 24 I think were the days. Which makes me think for those of us that have cars scheduled to be built soon are they going to have us wait till later in October...
I really do NOT want my car sitting on the lot. I don't want the dealer "showing" off my car to people. I know they can't drive it but I don't want people checking out my car. I also saw a post that the South African plant started production |

Unlikely that they do but perhaps they can order one for you to look at.

From personal experience, I would always want to view a car first hand in various lighting conditions before committing. Photos, computer generated images, and small samples can be very misleading for a variety of reasons.

Per my dealer regarding Oct. release, BMW said they can't retail their first vehicles until 10/9. He's still waiting on official confirmation but looks like we are probably waiting for them regardless of if they are ready or not.

Oh wow is that mean we should wait until 10/10 to get the car even finished and ready to deliver?

Production and Delivery Dates Vs Release Dates
I was excited to see my production date move up from 9/15 to 9/13. Usually, I'm use to everything getting pushed back till later. That was till I read in the threads that cars aren't going to be released from the dealers to the customers till sometime in October. I called my salesman and had asked him if it was true, and he said he really couldn't give me an answer either way. I would assume the dealer would love to sell sooner than later and collect. Did anyone hear for sure from a dealer that they had to hold them till sometime in Oct?

I spoke to my local dealer CA today. He indicated that they're expecting their first G45 delivery (not a customer ordered car) around the end of the month, and they'll do a launch event in early October. So yes it does seem like the ETA is October.
It doesn't sound like the dealers themselves are holding the cars though. From what I could glean, it's more that BMW's delivery schedule is such that the G45's will start reaching the dealers in October. But maybe every dealer is telling their own preferred version of the story. Last edited by MidnightLight; 09-09-2024 at 04:25 PM.. |
