That big wheelie was just for the video, because it's wasted motion on a drag strip. That's power that's not driving the bike forward.

When I still had a sportbike, took it the drag strip a couple of times for fun. This would have been like 2005. The best launch means MURDERING the clutch as you just have the front wheel skimming the ground.

My best was an 11.19 @ 121 mph on a tuned 2004 R6. I think it put a whopping 108 hp to the rear wheel.

Regardless of the video antics, launching a motorbike to gain maximum trap speed is hundreds of times more difficult than setting launch parameters in a C8 and stomping on the gas pedal. While Randy Probst is more a motorcyclist than car racer (based on his bio) they left the motorcycle race task to a professional.

While I never took my 1990 CBR 1000 to a drag strip to time it, but its 132 HP easily spun the rear tire at will. It was difficult to find the proper riding position to balance it between wheel spin and standing it up on end. That bike is why it don't get excited about car 0 - 60 times too much, because 30 years ago any production car could never match acceleration times the liter-class sport bikes of the day could produce in stock configuration right out of the crate.

The numerous videos of young women strapping on a helmet and pushing a few buttons then firewalling the pedal looks quite boring to me. I'd do that act about 3 times before I'd get sleepy for lack of excitement.

Throw in the Plaid with its electric whine, nah. Snore.

For sure. When it comes to bikes, it's all about the rider!! I could beat so many faster bikes back in the day cause guys just couldn't launch them!! Lol. I had my GSXR 750 down to perfection. I'd be grabbing 3rd gear when they were coming into 2nd.

I don't think all new cars are overpriced. The Z06 is GM's first supercar starting at 106k, if you can get one at MSRP and you don't go crazy with the option boxes. Yet people here think it's too much, and even on the corvette forum they think that's too much.

Yet people are ok with spending 140k for an M4 CSL.

That was my point when i mentioned the CSL. And that's only example. And i mentioned it because we're on a BMW forum.

And the C8Z is a supercar.

C8 Corvette Z06 wins Road and Tracks 2023 Performance car of the year, easily beating the gt4rs and M4CSL.

"Most important, prices for the Z06 coupe start at $109,295, a raging bargain for something that feels so exotic." According to R&T

Great, now let's make more of them and thin the wait list by switching the impatient ones to an Eray order. MSRP within 18 months just like I said. Then I'll be ready to fire it up.

C8 Z06 is Motor Trends performance car of the year 2023.

This is what they has to say about the 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06

"Here's a good chunk of what you need to know about the 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 with the Z07 package: it put down the second-quickest figure eight lap time we've ever recorded. The only car to beat it is the McLaren 765LT, which makes significantly more power and torque and costs three times as much, as-tested, as this Chevy. And even then, it only beats the Corvette by 0.05 second. The Corvette is punching above its weight? Yeah, with brass knuckles. Supercars typically come with a list of tradeoffs, and the Z06's is the shortest by far."

Super car indeed.

& we still have no other times for the car. No ring time, no real road course times from a big name track, etc.

GM clearly knows it is not as fast as they wanted/thought.

Super car? ha not until we have real #s beyond a figure 8

GM never publishes track times for any cars do they? They give a 0-60 and a 1/4 mile, all other track times are publications and independent sources. They didn't publish any C7 lap times either.

I could be wrong but maybe you can link so GM Official Published Lap Times.

And I've been a passenger in the C8, and for the passenger, I didn't like the high wall of climate control buttons separating the two compartments. This car definitely won't be for couples...unless they're fighting.

Nevertheless, for $100k to $120K, this is the performance bargain of our times...it literally sounds like an old Ferrari V8. That's high praise indeed. GM should be proud.
I agree with about all of this. Inside the car is odd. Little claustrophobic. Clunky. But my buddy rented a C8 stingray for the wknd while visiting me in az and the car is def growing on me. The rear is odd looking. From some angles the car looks extremely menacing and exotic. Some angles looks funky to me. And the attention that this car gets was crazy. Most people just think it’s some kind of exotic like a McLaren or Ferrari. Exhaust note is great. Bose stereo is really good. Great bang for buck. And this is just the stingray. The z06 is epic but still some funkiness in the design even tho it does look better

Non-car people will also confuse all kinds of cars for others. Blind I guess as they all have badges on them. I had my LS1 Camaro complimented as a Corvette LOL. I've had people ask me if my Hellcat is a Hellcat. Just look at it?!

It's ridiculous how oblivious people really are

Congrats!!! The ass end is so hard to look at. If I get one, I'm praying there will be an aftermarket help for it. Still can't believe Chevy allowed that to be the finished product. Thank god it sounds good🤣
