Neither is your M2 believe that...M2 fun factor is mostly based on the shorter wheelbase/ size etc relative to M3/M4 etc. It sure is no Cayman.

The more I see of the back of this thing the more I see this…
Edit: already feeling like a jerk for making fun of something some folks seem to like. My opinion of the back is just that. My opinion. If you like it that's great! For what it's worth I'm liking what I see of the rest of the car and look forward to seeing it in person.

It's not terrible...I think it may grow on me......more so than the Beaver Tooth M3/4
But, does it not look like the front was hit by a frying pan.....it's like so flat? I dunno? |

I mean, it’s 400 lbs lighter than this car, with larger tires and a wider stance. You’re talking about a massive difference in handling when you combine those things. It’s much more than “short wheel base.”

I still have hopes for the new M2. If the rear gets a nice diffusor, quad pipes and lower stance and they don't screw up the front bumper/intakes it could be pretty cool.
So far there was not a single proper M car that didn't look significantly better than the regular one. The new 4 series is terrible (my opinion, not just the front end but overall so many things wrong with this car) but the M4 in person is really much better than i expected. Not perfect and a bit of a disappointment too, but significantly better. fingers crossed they work on the right parts to make it stand out more, because i'm not expecting the fenders to be much wider or the hood be different, but we'll see. |

I own a 2015 M235 and a 2020 Z4.
What I like about the new M240 is that it gets the power of the Z4 B58 and it's superior interior including iDrive 7. I really struggle with the exterior design though - especially the rear and tail lights. I will probably skip this version and hang on to the above.

Rough crowd. Have we all forgotten how bad the 230 Grand Coupe looks? This is a clear improvement.
These pictures are the M240. The M2 will, no doubt, be bold. I'm looking forward to seeing it! But the facts remain: --Sweet inline 6 --More hp and tq --The adaptive suspension that has worked so well in the CS --BMW design features we've all asked for: Hoffmeister kink, power bulge, M Mirrors, better tech 6MT (at least in the states) for the M2. --No BEAVER grill. NO BEAVER GRILL. NO BEAVER GRILL! All in all, looking like an enthusiast car, and one of the last internal combustion cars we're likely to see. ![]() |

Shoulda just made it a shooting brake hatch and avoided the weird rear end design that it has now.

If they are not wider, the G87 can't re-use the suspension components from the G82 M4 which we know is what the G87 will get as it is basically a truncated M4 https://carbuzz.com/cars/bmw/m2/2022/photos-exterior#0 Last edited by Karmic Man; 07-09-2021 at 09:09 AM.. |
