I ordered my G45 M50 with Tanzanite Blue, my favorite BMW color. So I'll leave it to others to figure out Dune Grey. I'm definitely curious too... but I'll just wait till Dune Grey builds start showing up on dealer lots and on the streets.

I really do NOT want my car sitting on the lot. I don't want the dealer "showing" off my car to people. I know they can't drive it but I don't want people checking out my car.

When I spoke with my local dealer CA this morning, he indicated that their launch event will be after they receive their first G45 deliveries, which he expressly mentioned are *NOT* customer orders. So I'm pretty sure they're not going to have folks checking out customer-ordered cars.

I spoke to my dealer about this since my car is almost finished. He said that they only show the launch vehicles to the public and customer orders are stored in a garage until they are allowed to release and customer picks them up. I'm pretty happy about that and don't mind the wait if I know the car is stored and not for display/test driving.

Production Begins does not mean that assembly has started just that a VIN has been assigned and parts ordered/allocated. This usually happens about two weeks prior to your production date. At that time you can use the "F12" process to get your production date. Actually assembly takes less than a day, about four hours or so.

Web chat or call you local BMW genius, and providing you have an order number, you should be able to get a status update. At least that's how it works for the UK.

I called the manager at my local dealership where I put the order, and he said there's no current stop sale in effect for the x3, when the car is delivered, they're selling it to me.

As mentioned, the X3 is not affected. As far as the stop sale goes, any vehicle many for about the last month is not subject to it.

My x5m is tanzanite... It's an awesome color it changes with the light. It can look black at times or blue. It's a great color but it shows best when clean and it bright sun obviously which is hard to do. The blue and black/shadowline pop. I recommend full PPF. I would've considered it but I can't have 2 SUVs of the same color parked next to each other I needed a change as my last 2 cars have also been like a dark blue
