I walked through there on my way to old town Quebec. A woman approached me, as they sometimes do , and said, "I'm doing a survey about the Plains of Abraham. Will you give me 5 minutes?" I said I don't know a thing about it but okay. When I got back to my hotel I did some research. That battle was pivotal in Canada history. I have no idea how one battle can make such a difference but apparently it did. Otherwise, Quebec would still be speaking French. Kidding of course. Quebec kept it's French but France lost control of Quebec not long after this battle. The Plains of Abraham is a stunning sight to see. The added plus for me was to see people in period costumes for the reenactment and hearing from the survey taker on the importance of that battle in Canadian history. And of course, Quebec City itself is so amazing. My wife and I had a great time visiting your neck of the woods. |
