Facebook has the capability to easily monitor stuff like this. Why they are not doing it, and instead figuring out how to better market useless advertising shit to us is beyond me.

They do have teams dedicated to removing this type of material. The difficulty lies in, how do you distinguish from original content vs another source reporting on that content. It's easy for us to see the difference but becomes an extremely complex problem when you need to scale an algorithm to account for all cases with extreme accuracy.

Besides... me, you, everyone here has know way of knowing how much content has been removed. Thats exactly the point of it.

I believe the new travel restrictions are currently in effect. He came from somewhere not on the list. Add Uzbekistan? And the next country? And the next? I don’t have a good solution either. My concern is that security reaches a point of diminishing returns, where you start to do more harm than good, either by not letting in the right people, spending billions, etc. Trying to balance that is tough, especially when emotions run high
