Did you see the base trim, or was it an M-Sport/M-Performance?

I got the U11 X1 last year because I needed an upgrade from my previous 3er and was waiting for the X3 to come out and upgrade.
But now I'm wondering is it worth the money for this design? My dealer said it will be around the new price of X5, a little cheaper. Or should I just go for a Porsche which may not have the same features as BMW but looks amazing. And considering it may have again wait time of 6-9 months, which I totally don't want to wait.

Good to know. Is the vertical vs. horizontal grille design an option / package that you can select regardless of trim level? Or is it specific to some trims?

I'm in the minority (apparently) that actually likes the diagonal slats. So I hope I can get that on the G45 M50.

If the recent 5 is any example… we should be nervous what bmw will put in a 3 series equivalent level.

Every new generation everyone dislikes the car. Exactly the same with the g01 (remember the big grill hate?).

Unfortunately I can't reveal that. But we will see them soon

It was an M40, so I saw the "sportiest" version.

That is simply not true — someone posted a link to the 2017 thread — everyone was loving the G01.

When my Father-in-law got his X5 in 2018, I thought the grill was enormous and initially didn't like it. Today, I think the best looking BMW SUVs are the X5 followed by the X3. For sedans, only 3 Series with reasonable sized horizontal grills look good from the front.

My wife went for a 2023 CPO X3 M40i last month because it had the M Sport Differential, and mostly fully loaded except for ventilated fronts and heated rears and was about 20% less than buying new. Also we do not anticipate adjusting a lot of settings so we were fine with iDrive 7 (newer ones will get faster and more powerful), also the binnacle housing the gauge cluster physical buttons look more appealing to us.

I am hoping the concept car with iDrive 7ish interior is a sign that BMW will move back to the older interior design and shrink the grills back to reasonable proportions and make them more horizontal as those designs are more pleasing to the eyes.

I don't think we will regret going for a 2023 instead of waiting for the G45 as the G01 design is wonderful enough, inside and out. The real advantages of the G45 seems potential better steering, maybe better active torque vectoring and potentially the new TU2 engine with port injectors but we are not the type who switches cars very often. We buy something we like with all the features we want and hang on to them for a long period of time. Here's to hoping her M40i will be trouble-free for years to come with Dijectron treatment and frequent enough oil changes.

I honestly don't see you regretting the '23 G01 in light of what we know so far about the G45. I really like the LCI X5 and love the pre LCI X3. If the G45 is something that won't grow on me, I'll just wait and see what the new X5 will look like a year from now. I don't see myself going with any other make, unless both X's are just hideous. Although even if that's the case, I might just get the last LCI X5 and wait for better times

The 25’ is so ugly. Hope it’s not the real thing. Glad I got a 24’ X3.

People keep saying “wait till you see it in person” with these new BMWs. Then you see it in person and realize it looks worse.

I’m sure BMW will sell a ton of them but let’s be clear, popularity doesn’t mean something is actually good.

I think this confirms the grille design. This is one of 2 designs on the new 1 series. We’re doomed 🫠

Just like every redesign of every model of every year. They will sell more of this new X3 then it’s predecessor, and all of you who are complaining about how it looks will buy one once you get used to it. It will be better in every way.

I don’t understand why people complain over and over and yet bmw seems to do better every year. For example I knew 10 people who had a F80 M3/M4 , when the new one came out you would think their 1st born died. Guess what? 9 of them got the new model. The 10th one wishes he could get another one, but he needed a SUV.

People have nothing better to do then piss and moan. The new X3 will be amazing. No one really cares you don’t like it. The masses likes it and that’s all that matters.

You’re right, only things that are not popular are good. You should hear yourself.

If you read what you quoted, you’ll see I never said that. I said just because something is popular, doesn’t mean it’s good. I never said that all popular things aren’t good.

Can’t figure out which direction we should have the grills go fuck it. Let’s just do both directions one way crossing over the other. OK sounds good to me. Alright cool what’s next?

People don’t just buy the cars for their designs.

Your hyperbole is commendable, but it’s not black and white.

And mind you sir, 10 people (in YOUR circle/network) are not enough for your conclusion to be statistically significant, i’d recommend a mathematics class or revise your school work if you took your courses. Lol
