Differences M50 and x30

Seems I can spec a x30 just like a M50 and the only differences would be the engine/suspension/calibration more sporty? (for about 10K)

But in terms of equipment I think Im able to do the same.
Is this correct?

I have not studied the G45 price classes that closely, but for G01 in 2024, I could and did specify the same MAdaptive suspension (could have ordered larger wheels but didn't want them bigger than 19") and same MSport red or blue caliper brakes as on the 6 cylinder model. With Shadowline exterior and MSport package as well, the differences primarily came down to the engine and some more minor trim. Even so, it rapidly and comfortably gets to triple digits when asked. Check your ordering material for the X30 suspension, brake, and exterior trim optional choices to see if you can narrow the differences even further than you thought.

EDIT: You got me curious, so I was able to build this online, so suspension and brakes can be the same, but calipers seem to be blue only:

Cosmetically,
when you match the package between the two, you get:
different style of front grill
no red marker on the steering wheel (and probably no M stitching as well, for US market)
No exhaust tips
probably no Gloss black on front door handle.
You can’t opt 21” 1037 M wheel
Everything else is about the same.

Mechanically,
You do not have B58 engine, so different cooling as well
although can be opted for adaptive suspension, you get softer adaptation compared to M50’s
you will not get the chassis reinforced braces in various places
You don’t get performance rear Diff, not sure if steering rack is different between the two

This additional stiffness is also likely due to the suspension's need to support the heavier weight of the 6 cylinder engine.

With Sport and Sport+ settings, the 30i version I have does not lack for stiffness.

With the MSport package on the X30, the same MSteering wheel is included, per the U.S. Build and Price website. I got it on mine in 2024.

To add on: you (obviously) don't get the exterior M badging as well on the 30 M Sport.

And the kinematics of the suspension are going to be different. I'm betting they change the durometer of rubber bushings, etc. There is probably a lot of engineering changes that we just don't see. But they "look" the same. We bought the M50 for my wife Saturday. She would have been fine with 4cyl, but that 6cyl is just too nice.

You are correct that the basic steering wheel is the same, but it does not come with the red leather stripe at 12:00. Instead, it is black matching leather

The 30 M Sport steering wheel also doesn't have the M tricolor stitching that the M50 has.
