I'm curious how you guys received allocations so early. I've been first on the list at my local dealer and they haven't received any allocations. They say the car can't even be sold retail till October.

The first round of allocations went out already. I was first on the list at my dealer. I have a production number and it has been scheduled. My dealer says it's getting built week 36.

First round of allocations went out several weeks ago for build week 35 or so.

We're all in status 111 now and are able to get production IDs to track so it is legit.

I've read/watched numerous reviews (of previous models) recommending it as the best of both worlds as far as choice between comfort and sport. My current car has a sport suspension and my wife constantly complains about the harsh ride so this can be a happy medium when she's in the car.

A dealer I recently contacted said they have an allocation and gave me a written quote based on my spec. It was msrp exact. I’ve countered and waiting to hear back. Curious to know if anyone has been able to negotiate below msrp?

Obviously discounts vary by region, dealer and timing but we are already seeing discounts in the 6% area. Allocations seem to be fairly plentiful.

If I can get 6% off in the S.F Bay Area, I will buy, I doubt it would happen for at least 6 months.

The BMW PCP rate is as high as 7.9%, which is crap, so I suspect BMW UK/dealers are trying to sucker early adopters with low discount because “it’s new” lol. I would certainly want BMW to take all the depreciation risk on this one, so cash is a no no.

I’ve always approached BMW dealers outside my local area, as out of area is likely to get a better discount than if you’re in the dealer catchment. Often local dealers will match out of area quotes rather than lose a sale.

Not sure what your dealer gains by doing that (very odd). The net result is you still have to wait!

Have you purchased from this dealer before?

Actually very common for dealers to do that. They keep people waiting for an allocation from them rather than having the customer go to another dealer. It is amazing how many people can be "first in line" for an allocation.

It's been a minute, bought from them 14 years ago, we're not currently in a BMW. I did reach out again this weekend based on the comments here and they insist they've received no word on allocations and the retail date (the date BMW will allow X3's to be sold) is mid-October.

So yeah, odd. All good, interest rates should be lower later.

Then I agree w/everyone else who said shop around for dealers w/allocations (or use a broker). No need to get strung along by this particular dealer!
