The guy claims "it looks like a mini XM". Noooooo that's the kiss of death.... LOL

The dash material (time 6:04) is the version with the weird stitching that IIRC comes with Merino and some other seat material options. Gotta say it's really cheap looking IMO in this video.

Wonder what the basic plastic dash option is like ?

Here the Veganza & Alcantara combo is classed as a cloth option and comes with the weird stitching dash as shown in the video, as does the Merino option.

Both the Econeer cloth and Veganza leatherette options don’t have the weird stitching dash, so base plastic.

I guess it’s choose the best of a bad bunch.

I wish we get the M seat belts with colored stitches in the US and Canada. But it's not a big deal.

Nonsensical that the M50 doesn't but the M340i does, iirc. Bizarre choice by BMW.

I realize there are cost and weight saving measures, but the interior materials of recently released BMW such as this and the 5 series are concerning. I hope they don’t mess up the X5 and X7 in a few years…

My 2024 m340i did not come with those belts and they weren’t an option when I ordered. I suspect it only on the full M cars.

The paint and the rear lights look nice.

The grille and bottom part of the grille was a huge miss, the rear quarter looks weird.

The interior material looks cheap.

I’m sure this thing will sell well for the average buyer.

Not only did they cost cut on materials and the non-opening sunroof, but also no rear door ambient lighting? What a joke.

Currently in a ‘25 530i rental as my XB7 is in the shop and I must say that the cost-cutting measures in material choices and features is very troubling to say the least. Old F and G-series cars were much better appointed, even in the lower trim levels.

I hope this isn’t a trend that’s going to affect X7 and 7-Series down the line. If so I’ll happily jump ship over to Porsche and pay the extra money. Especially as loaded i5 is now a $100,000 dollar car!!!!

There’s no dash ambient lighting either or door bin lighting.

I wonder if there’s puddle lights when the doors are open, as I couldn’t see any in the above video.

Heck, even the interior trim option is limited to the bit around the shifter area, without matching dash and door trim.

What do you mean by dash ambient lighting? There is a strip of ambient lighting on the mid-dash.

Based on all the comment, I feel this forum is killing the 2025 X3?? All other car brand's new design is similar as One hugh screen with no buttons... I am shopping for my next car at the moment, and as a normal SUV buyer, the X3 G45 is OK to me... (I am not the type of buyer looking for a True-M or True-AMG level)

for the glass roof, Audi Q6 e-tron, Tesla or Polestar all come with a fix glass roof. As long as they come with an electric shield, I am OK.

For the comment regarding BMW XM sales number, take a look on this link :https://www.bmwblog.com/2024/08/01/b...rst-half-2024/

My personal opinion, all design has people like or dislike, but whatever we said here, I don't think BMW will change.... ONLY the paying customers and BMW Sales result will make them adjust.

Digging the rear and don’t mind the side profile. The grill is bad (guess I shouldn’t be surprised). Don’t love the quad pipes, M mirrors, and flat bottom steering wheel on an M sport - I get it’s part of sales but it reduces the exclusivity of a true M car.

For me it’s not just about big screens and buttons, but the quality, or lack of in a car costing £80k plus here.

There’s no denying people will spend money on anything, I don’t have any issue with how people spend their money.

Maybe spring for an XM lol

Have YOU physically see the X3 G45 yet??? If I am you, I will hold my comments.

BTW, can you suggest any other brand/model in similar price range? I am looking for a SUV in similar physical size.

I test drove Audi Q5, not my cup of tea, also it will refresh next year. I checked MB GLC, don't like it. (also can see cost cutting)...

Yes, the M50 at GWFOS in July. It was in the beige colour.

BMW Canada is having some M class test drive event in August and I aware the X3 G45 (pre-production) will be physically present in those event. If my schedule ok, I will go and take a look.

I’d definitely suggest you see it first hand, and ideally test drive.

I’m sure it will drive pretty well, and I could even put up with exterior in the right colour, but that interior even in Merino with luxury dash etc…..

The “pre production” label is great. At the end of the day do you think BMW just throw these together to show to world at launch ? If anything these will have had lots of time and attention lavished on them compared to production units.
