Nice vid, mesmerizing. I wish we could watch our individual cars being assembled on a feed.

That would be cool ! Especially being they say , you don’t want a car that has been assembled on a Monday or a Friday. I of course had to look up what day of the week mine was built, and it was a Monday ! It’s a 2018 30i with around 34,000 miles on it . I bought it in 21 with 10400 miles on the clock and So far so good. It was a Monday car but has also been trouble free . 🤞🏼They all must have enjoyed their weekend . 😂

Thanks for posting ! At the end of the video the second to the last car exiting has the European Turn signals ( which I wish we had ) the last car has the US turn signals. I was surprised to see that they make the European X3's in Spartanburg as well.

Not sure if this can be retrofitted with just software or the housing layout is different. |

I don't think the hardware is there. The area where the EU turn signal is filled in on US X3's. You would need to change out the entire light fixture. I have seen people do this on the G01's and they need to replace the entire light. I wish we could choose during the build.

I thought that was the case as well but if you look there are definitely X3 30's coming off that line. You can tell by the grill and trim levels.

Great video sample from the BMW Spartanburg campus which is incidentally 8 million square feet.
The car ... well - it will not be a line item in my shopping list in the present form. |

I always enjoy these behind the scenes videos. So much goes into building these cars, what a treat to see the hard working men and women putting everything together.
Also weirdly enough, it looks like there is no consistency in the blinkers. The front ones have that god awful slow fade that is reminiscent of incandescent bulbs, but the rears and wing mirror ones are regular instant on/off. Compare that to some recent models like the LCI G05/G07 where the front and rears have that awful fade in/out. Can BMW not make up their mind on this? Why can't they make this an option in the iDrive? The fade in/out looks so god awful, I'm so glad my pre-LCI X7 doesn't have it. |
