From what I've heard on BP and other sites, BMW won't be integrating CarPlay any time soon. They have invested far too much time, money, and corporate ego in iDrive. If anything, BMW management must be thinking "We won!" now that Mercedes has so quickly jumped onto the CarPlay bandwagon. (And from what I've heard, their COMAND system doesn't provide a good user experience, but I haven't actually tried it.)

But whatever. I really don't want to have to reach over and tap icons on the iDrive display anyway. BMW seems to have already done a good job with voice control, Connected Drive, and iPhone integration with Siri functionality. That's all I really need.

Looks like next year's G11 7 Series will have a touch screen iDrive display, so we'll see what BMW does with that. Spy shots look really nice. Single row of very large rectangular icons. Not a grid of small square icons:

Does anyone think BMW will include support for Apple CarPlay (or AndroidAuto) in the new 2016 F30 LCI?

I think car play would be a waste, bmw idrive allows the interface to move between nav, radio, iphone music, calls pretty seamlessly. Car play would require one interface for Apple related stuff and another for everything else. I don't see the need for it with idrive as is. Mb command and audi mmi do a poor job of interfacing with I devices so they might be stronger candidates
