I’m sure he can afford it, but if it was an original car the value just took a major hit and more importantly now it is not all original. Kinda sucks for a car of which only 49 were built and even fewer survived.

When you are willing to drive that into the city, especially NY (I'm assuming), then it was always going to be a gamble.

Heck out of all the cars I have now, I don't think I'd drive my E92 into the NY city either. Yea it's just a car, but I'm not willing to take that kind of a gamble because it means a lot to me.

Sounds like a 4Runner kind of a day at that point

Or, at the very least don't park on a curb like that. Hell I avoid that at all costs with my car, especially in a crowded area. Whenever I have to I am very careful about where I put it. He should have found a real spot and walked. One thing to his credit though, it was apparently in view so that is normally a big comfort.
