Volvo jumps on the X6/X4 bandwagon

...by releasing the S60 Cross Country.

Not even close. That is just a lifted S60 Sedan. Actually not a bad thing at all, but not new either, Subaru already built such a vehicle.

True, they are not even close but putting an S60 on top of a SUV chassis was probably the easiest way for Volvo to get something that would fit (somehow) into the Sports Activity Coupe segment.

It's not actually an SUV chassis though. I can't imagine Volvo had the X6/X4 in mind when creating this.

Plus, Volvo has been selling cross country models for years. They were the pre-cursor to the XCXX models. This is just the first time they've applied it to a sedan.

Not likely to drive many sales, especially in North America, but considering they didn't need to develop anything new they probably don't need to sell many to make it worth it. They're basically cheap derivatives that serve to pick up a few extra sales (something Volvo really needs right now).

No. Aren't all the X vehicles actually on car chassis? They're pretty awful offroad so I would assume it's not designed on a truck chassis.

I'll get this as a rental car when I'm in the south. Instant street-cred.
