Maritime Accidents involving BMW's
Back in 2008 the vessel MV Courage tumbled when it suffered a hard list while in route to New Jersey's port. The vessel was carrying approximately 2,000 brand new cars, mostly BMW 1-Series, 3-Series and M3's. Only 370 new BMW were damaged, 70 new BMW's were a total loss. The damaged new BMW's were repaired and sent on their way to their new owners. It's unknown if the owners were made aware of the damage during shipping. It was reported that the 70 new BMW's that were a total loss were destroyed.

2002 MV Tricolor Maritime Accident
Back in 2002 the MV Tricolor was involved in three English Channel collisions resulting in massive damage and probably the biggest loss in automotive exporting industry at that time. The MV Tricolor was transporting 3,000 cars, many of them were brand new BMW's. All of the cars were a total loss. It's reported that the new cars were all destroyed. The ship was eventually destroyed as well.

The Hoegh Osaka had MINI's aboard
In January 2015 the Hoegh Osaka was carrying brand new Jaguars, Land Rovers and MINI's. It was also reported the vessel was carrying new Bentley's and Rolls Royce's but the manufacturers denied that report and insisted no "High End" cars were aboard. I know this ship was eventually repaired and put back into service but I never found out what happened to the cars that were aboard?
