X3....whats everyone think?
I was thinking of getting a X3 prolly a used 07 prolly to replace my 99 RX 300. Whats everyone think of the X3? I know i should be posting this on xbimmers but that forum is way slower than this, and i dont think theres a lot of people using it.
so whats everyone think of the X3? Pros? Cons? I am ok with the styling its not that ugly....and ive heard of the tranny problems. Im thinking a 07 used <10000 miles X3 or a Used 05 or 06 A6 used <25000. please advise |

problem is i think that the X5 may be a little bit thirsty with gas prices so high, bu ti think that a 05/06 X5 may be cheaper than a 07 X3 maybe. hah but yea, the x5 is too thirsty.

The A6 is clearly the better choice. But the resale value on them is horrifying. I've never been a fan of the X3. If you have a second car to drive, your SUV might as well be something that actually has sufficient room inside to haul stuff. I don't drive the touareg too often. But as far as functionality is concerned, it hasn't let me down. And as my second car, that fits the bill. If you plan on downsizing to one car though, either one is a good pick. The A6 will be a lot more comfortable and seem a lot "nicer" on the inside. I looked into an A6 a while back. Nice cars.

+1 The interior of the car is absolutely dismal by BMW standards and I don't want to get started on the exterior.

x3 is too small for me. i'd take the x5 though, or better yet get an infiniti fx.

is a great little SUV I got it as a loaner when I took my car for service. I love the huge sunroof. I will take the x5 over the x3 but if you don't have enough $$$ for the x5 just take the x3 you would not be disappointed.

last time I checked, soccer moms are females. The very definition of 'chick car' is a car that is mostly driven by females.
And I agree X3 is a chick car.

I don't see the X3 as a chick car any more than a manly car. I see a little of both driving them around here.

We had an '04 x3 for 3 years, it was a great little SUV all around and it never had a single problem in 47K miles.

I test Drove the new Infiniti FX a week ago. It's a great car! The interior and interface is top notch...much better than BMW's and it's got enough punch. The only drawbacks were the lack of low end power SUVs should have and the gas mileage 14/20 MPG...
