It's growing on me. It's starting to make sense. BUT saying that the grille looks awkward with darker paints. Look:

and all it is is another face lift............i was expecting mercedes to totally build a new SL by now. Guess not

I know. I'd love to see a new SL. I think Merc did well with the new CL and C class. At the moment they're busy with the new E class and CLK. Cant wait to see how they look, spypics are promising so far.

Maybe it'll look better in real-life. I think the grille should have body-coloured bits to make it less flashy/cheap looking:

They suit the SL63 but it wasnt a good idea. They should have been a little more original with the design.

Those headlights make it look like a frog, between surprised and a little angry. I honestly don't like it,... squared front,... curved profile, ...whatever rear, those designers are not building a new car, just taking pieces from others and that creates a composition mess.

amazing what everyone can see when they look at the SAME car. I can kinda understand the "angry frog" look, it's there

I still think it'll look a lot better in real. Let's hope so anyway.

It doesn't look elegant to me. All of the flares and lines make it look cheap IMO. Its almost as if the MB designers graduated from the 2000 class of the Pontiac school of design.
