Fall 2015 TV

Aside from football, what new shows have you watched and what do you think of them? (I know most still haven't aired as of this first post...)

I saw the first episodes of Life in Pieces and Blindspot and liked both. I expected Life in Pieces would be pretty entertaining and think it could be a replacement for Modern Family (which I am getting tired of). However, I was pleasantly surprised by Blindspot. I tried watching Bastard Executioner but couldn't get into it.

The Walking Dead and that's about it except for Better Call Saul.

Football bores the hell out of me now, sick of watching the tatoo'd up thugs running around chasing a ball and acting like animals. With the amount of commercials they pack into those games, it's such a waste of life spending hours upon hours watching that nonsense.

If I see ONE more Peyton Manning commercial I might combust. What a nauseating commercial whore he is. He's on like 25% of all the commercials.

Yup.
No cables.
I have a tight monthly budget, but different annual budget. Both comes from different source of income.

Eta: my parents has a directtv on my name at her place, and I watch football online.

Totally forgot that show and I absolutely love it!

Shows like The Voice I like for the entertainment of the singers, but I fast forward through huge sections of that show.

All the best.

Yeah scandel is one of the only shows we watch night of.

The voice and dancing with the stars i ff through the majority of the show if I've got the remote.

Hockey! Pre-season games just started up and things are already looking good.

As far as tv shows go - South Park is still entertaining

Flarrow is coming back next month and Supergirl is starting up. I watched the Supergirl pilot when it "leaked" over the summer and it was solid, so i'll be watching at least the beginning of the show. Agents of Shield is back too, should be neat.

The new Daily Show starts next week so i'll be curious to see how Trever Noah does. I'm expecting crap, if I'm being honest. Ohh well, at least we still have John Oliver.

Not sure what else there is though. I don't have cable (Just Netflix, Hulu, and HBO) so what should I be looking out for?

Personally, even though I can afford it I don't see the point in spending all that money on cable. I spend $20 a month and have access to nearly everything I watch between Hulu and Netflix and HBO Now. What's a monthly cable bill worth? North of $100?

I'd rather spend that money on car parts

I would like to watch it the night it airs, but I can't stand waiting a week to see what's going to happen next. The way TV shows work makes watching them the "night of" much like reading a spy novel and putting it down right in the middle of something's happening. I can't do that; I have to get to a "good" stopping point, and I'm the same re: Scandal. I have to find out right then and there, so I binge watch it too.

All the best.

Watched The Player this weekend and found the overall premise too silly to watch again. So far I'd say I have interest in a pretty low percentage of new shows, considering those I watched and didn't like and those I didn't even bother watching because they are of no interest (Heroes Reborn, Best Time Ever, etc.). Seems like at least 1/2 of the shows that interest me are on pay TV nowadays (HBO/SHO, AMC, FX, etc.). I don't have interest in singing and dancing, superhero/fantasy or the vast majority of reality concepts, which are the bread and butter for network TV. Must be in the minority since they keep producing these types of shows.
