Does anyone have a Gopro that you use to take rolling shots with from the same car you are in.

how did you set/rigged it so that it is able to take a shot of the complete car and secure is it?

I would suggest getting a friend to do it. You'd have to spend a small fortune on the mount that would extend that far (even with 4k superview on the hero4 black.

I know a few producers and asked a similar questions regarding their shots in movies, and they spend a little over 4k making the mounts for their stunt cars. Cheers!

You would need a long enough jib and properly secure it some how. Most likely you'd only be able to film the car from the right side since the jib would stick out too far trying to film on the left. It would also have to be at such an angle to where you wouldn't get the arm in the shot. There are a couple jibs out there that work with gopro cameras but probably not long enough to get the shot you are imagining.

If you look into it and think it'll work, you probably can fasten it down with multiple suction cups and handle bar mounts.

Your best bet is to just get a friend to film it. Mount it to his car and use the ap to frame the shot.

Rolling shots and Rig shots are different things.

Rolling shot is shot from one car to another. Here is one I took yesterday morning.

A rig shot you need a rig. The one I have is from Rig Pro. They have a Facebook site. A guy named Andrew owns the company and makes the rigs. The technique requires photoshop to remove the rig.
The car is not running or driving and is rolled slowly while the rig is attached. A long shutter speed is required to give the effect.

Thanks for the comments guys. So doing the rig shot is the most difficult but you can theoretically do it with just 1 person. Extra hand do help.
My suggestion is to do rolling shots from one car to another. This will require highway speeds and 3 people. A driver for each car and a photographer in the passenger seat.

The wider angle the lens the better. Set up the camera in shutter priority mode. Set the speed depending on the lens. If you have a 20mm lens use a shutter speed of 1/40 sec.
If using a 24mm lens then a 1/40-1/60th range is best. But you can try a slower shutter speed. Just don't expect a very good keeper rate. The cars need to be going the same speed. Best times of day to shoot are early morning or late afternoon when the sun is low in the sky.
Take as many shots as you can as most won't come out perfectly.
In theory you could even use a cell phone to do these as long as you have the ability to control the shutter speed manually with an App or a high end camera phone that has that feature.
