All prototypes, press cars and first production units are recycled and destroyed.
Even those M2 prototypes will all be crushed. This video is years old at least a decade or so you can still see the Rover 75 as well as the first generation MINI from 2001.

The VIN no on the first car featured had 991 in the options list which is "Pre Series Management" which would imply it was a prototype/mule. Personally I think it's great the lengths they're going to in the video to recycle the cars, definitely the best way of recycling cars I've seen to date.

the video is weird... when they drain the fluids including the oil, everything comes out so new...even if the car was only ran 5 miles the oil is still coming out black not brand new and still see-through brownish..

Transmission oil would not come out all that dirty depending on the mileage.
