So BMW has invited us in early to talk about our lease ....
Lease is up in May, driving a stripper X1 with bugger all in it for $525CDN a month, all in. BMW called to get us in early, have a look at the car and start planning for a new lease.
Any idea what the sell is gonna be here? I get pretty annoyed pretty quickly if my time is wasted so don't want to rock up to have them try and flog me a new X1 lease at MRSP rates. |

Probably just a way to get u in a new lease. I never showed up when they kept calling me. Probably to get rid of the current model year stock on their lot.

No M3 for me until they make a wagon, I don't do four doors, period.
They are obviously going to try to get us in a new ride but do you think they are going to try and cut a deal or just throw MRSP at me? |

I know there is currently a 6 month pull ahead program in the U.S., not sure if it includes Canada though.
I guess if you order a new car now, takes a couple months to get here, you would be within the 6 months. |

if you liked the x1 the new models have been hitting the dealers. aesthetically they are much nicer and for a transverse engine they drive how you would expect a bmw to.
but don't expect an amazing deal just an opportunity to walk out of what you are currently in. |

My issue will be North American bullshit (i am Australian), where the state a number and then tack of 5 bazillion charges.
So i will walk in and say we are not paying a dime over $525, tell me what i can get for that money. He will show us this and that and this for $525 and i will say "that's everything, $525 out of my pocket, no other charges" and he will agree. Then in the paperwork it will say $800 a month just because bullshit and I lose my rag on him. |

I say keep an open mind, go in, enjoy your free coffee, see what they suggest. Maybe it's something other than X1 that you like and they need to get rid of, maybe it's slightly better package for same money or few extra bucks, maybe there's deals to be had. Worst case scenario you can say no and move on. Then again you might end up with a deal or build a relationship with dealership for the future, or test drive a model you never thought of and end up liking it. The way I see it, nothing to lose but couple of hours of your day. |

It is entirely upto you to pick the new car and negotiate the price with the dealer. All BMW FS cares is that you go through the lease inception/termination fee cycle as often as possible Quote:
BMW has been pretty clear on this: customer demand for M3 wagons outside of continental Europe is somewhere between minimal and "not worth bothering". a

From what you are saying, i wonder if i will be pinged for a small dent or two we have on the car upon lease return? If so, what's it gonna run me? I hate upfront fees too, see we went through lease busters so some other schmuck paid for PDI, delivery etc etc and we just inherited the monthly bill. |

It's just how to get you in. I get them for cars I've sold (some I sold 6-7 years ago). "Top dollar for your trade" or the last one "we will give you $xx,xxx in trade on any new car).
It's all useless info, 2 deals have to be made: one for the price of the car and one for the add-ons, financing options, etc |

If the dings are large enough that a quarter can not cover them up, you will be charged for them. Same with the scratches and other nicks. Tires have to have at least 4/32ns of tread left, etc, etc. If you return the leased car at the same dealership from which you negotiated a purchase of the new car, you are more likely to be "forgiven" for the lease return imperfections as they will be subtracting the R&R costs from the profit they made on your new car sale. a
