Taking a page out of the P1's book.

Why not have different modes to tailor the cars performance?

Nothing really new on the Ford GT though as other cars have the feature already (the aforementioned P1 for example).

We're all impressed simply because it's a Ford.

It's also a Ford GT...which is a successor to the Ford GT40....which was also an extremely impressive car for it's time and the story of why it even existed is cool.

I too hope it goes absolutely bonkers in upcoming GT racing. I have loyalty to BMW in IMSA and Aston in WEC but hey seeing this beast out there will be great. If GM can make it happen the last decade-plus in the category, Ford should be able to do the same.
I wish they'd build a P1 car next!!
