Do you have a side job?
I work from home for my main job so I've been thinking about adding a second job for some extra mod $ & such.
What do you do for a side job? I don't feel like fixing other people's cars on the side. I could do photography, but I don't have any fancy equipment so that's out. |

No a real job, per se, but I do IT work for a lawn care company and they mow and take care of my lawn. No money changes hands. Been doing it for about a decade. It works out well for both of us.

I work at a hobby shop in my hometown on the weekends. I worked there in college and started back a couple years ago to help me through a rough time (career change) and help them out for the holidays; I stuck around because my discount kicks ass and I get to see the new stuff first. Also, I know my co-workers pretty well at this point, and I like wrenching on stuff and helping newbies out. I also get free stuff sometimes so that's cool. I'm down to more seasonal work now...just one Sunday every month until Christmas, and I get to keep my discount.
I'm a bit of a workaholic...at one point I worked three jobs, seven days a week. I have a really wonderful job now, but I stress about having two days off in a row, back-to-back. If that's your personality, a second job can grant you perspective and a change of pace from your main job, and you might even have a little bit of fun doing it, too. |

I don't anymore since I was able to get a new job that pays better, but for about 18 months in 2014-2015 I worked as a barback for an upscale downtown bar on the weekends. The hours sucked (Fri, 8pm - ~3am, then Sat, 2:30pm - ~4am), but it was usually good for about $1k in tips over the course of a month.

It's actually a direct sales business we do on the side. I'm a mechanic and the wife is in the corporate world. The company has an auto bonus program that is paying for my M3 :-). If anyone has any interest in learning more about it hit me up. It's seriously life changing.

OP you know you can rent very high quality camera equipment , if equipment is what is stopping you. Here in NJ Unique Photo Fairfield NJ rents every possible thing I am sure there are simeler companies by you.
I am retired Law Enforcement, my son (presently on the job) owns a high end COFFIE shop in Hoboken and I bake for him "Tom and Geri Cookies." I have a real estate license and work as a full time as a security office for the school system, not easy to make ends meet in Fn New Jersey can't wait till our Govenor eats himself into a coma. |

Being a mechanic, I could very easily do my primary job on the side, and get offers all the time.
Not worth the possible law suit. A wheel falls off, car kills somebody, in debt till I am put in the ground. Not even remotely worth it IMHO. |
