holy shit you're 18 randy? wow

the EASIEST way for you to get a card would be to have your parents add you under their existing account. only bad part is that they can easily keep track of your spending.

2nd way would be to apply for any student credit cards. most banks have them. the limit would be no more than $500 with interest around 15-20%. stick with it for about a year then you can upgrade.

Bank of America gives you a CampusEdge checking account and a Platinum Plus Visa designed to build credit. However, I'd advise you to open up a student checking account with whatever bank your parents have. Most banks have them.

Just about any credit card company will approve you... Especially just turing 18 and going into college.. Its kind of a shame.. They know younger folks dont know about credit cards and are irresponsible and try and take advantage of that. I know this sounds odd but each year a lot of college students end up committing suicide because they go so far into credit card debt.

Just be careful, never spend more than you have in your bank account thinking well I have a month to get the money ect.

Bank of America operates as MBNA in Canada. They will approve absolutely anyone. I have seen unemployed friends from clearly low-income backgrounds get $500 credit limits no questions asked, so long as they were still in school (high school at the time) and over 18.

a credit card from a bank you have history with is the easiest way. or capital one. but i highly advise against capital one. if you bank with bank of america, go talk to the bank manager and sign up for a BOFA CC.

and for reference, getting a card in your name under your parents accounts does not do anything whatsoever for your credit. except build theirs.

+1 on capital one, they approved me for a $750 credit limit, however if you bank with bank of america, i reccomend getting thier american express card, they give you a great credit limit by the way....

I forgot to mention I also got approved for a Citibank Platinum Select students Mastercard with a $500 limit.

I suggest opening up a free checking/savings account with a bank.

If you wan't to build credit and get a credit card, you can go to the bank put money down and that will be your credit limit. It's a good way to start building up credit.

I am going to be doing deposit credit card. Basically means you put down anywhere from 200-2,000 and thats your limit. within 6 months you usually get accepted for a real card and get your cash back.

Its smarter because you cant go over and its your money so you most likely would be smarter with it.
