Performance Center Delivery

Outside of European Delivery, this is the BEST way to take delivery of your new BMW.

I purchased another BMW from a dealer in Utah. Peake BMW refused to do a curtesy delivery so my other option was to pay $1,100 to ship the car from the port in Charleston, SC to my home in New Orleans, LA. My client advisor suggested I do PCD instead of shipping the car and I can't thank him enough for the incredible experience.

PCD is completely free for you and one guest. There is no added cost into the purchase of your vehicle to do Performance Center Delivery.

You only pay for your way there. Once you've landed, BMW picks you and your guest up in their X5 and shuttles you to your hotel at the Greenville Marriot. It's a decent hotel. There is a restaurant inside and your dinner that night is paid for by BMW. The next morning the restaurant serves breakfast and again BMW picks up your tab. At 745 everyone is rounded up and shuttled to the performance center. It's easy to spot at the restaurant who is there for BMW. Everyone's in BMW apparel lol.

Once you arrive at the center, you are greeted by a welcoming team in the front lobby. There is a quick role call and then you hand them your waivers. Once those are collected we go into one of the class rooms where the instructors introduce themselves and get to know everyone and explain what the expectations on the track are going to be. From there you are assigned a track car similar to the one you are taking delivery of. I got an F30 340. The guy next to me had an f80 m3 and to my right, Arielle was assigned a 228i. We go through drills on getting the cars up to 40 and then slamming on the brakes and seeing who can stop the fastest. We learn to brake and steer around to avoid an accident. We did this for about 30 minutes. After that it was off to doing laps around cones weaving in and out at 50 mph without knocking any of them down from there we learned tight cornering, hitting the apex. All the while our instructors were radioing in to our cars telling us to keep our foot on the gas. "This is BMW, not the Lexus academy " lol he kept saying.

Then it was off to the skid pad. We turned DSC completely off and floored the gas. Spinning in full 360's was a blast. DSC was then turned on and a prize was awarded for anyone who could do a 360 at that point. No one won.

The final event on the track was "Hot Laps". The instructors brought out 3 F80 M3's and we got to ride the full course of the track and maximum speed and have them show off on the skid pad at a high rate of speed. It was incredible!!!!

Everything we did, our guests got to experience as well, if they wanted to drive.

That took about 2.5 hours on the track

From there you are assigned a delivery specialist who will spend the rest of the morning with you. Mine was a guy named Nick Wilson. Super sweet. Nick walked me to my car which was in a private show room. Nick went over every inch of my new car explaining in full detail all of the features. (He knew I had 3 previous bmws so I was his easiest client lol) Nick put my temp tags on and put my luggage in my trunk.

After delivery it's lunch time. Nick escorted us to the dinning room where we ordered lunch. Amazing food. All free. We eat lunch together and then went shopping in their gift shop. Unfortunately all items in there are not free . They had so much stuff!

From there you say goodbye to your delivery specialist and your car is taken out of the show rooms and driven up front to the front parking lot with a full tank of gas.

After lunch it's time to go off roading in the X5's through waist high water and over huge rock courses to the point where two wheels are off the ground. Incredible!!!

Last but not least is a tour of the factory.

It's an amazing experience. If you have a weekend to spend doing it, I highly suggest it .

If you plan to do PCD, you must let your client advisor know so that he/she can route the car to SC instead of the car arriving at your dealership once it leaves Germany. Once the Performance Center accepts your requested delivery date, the hardest part is waiting 6 weeks to go pick up your car once it's put on order lol.

Only part you hated..lol.

I love it when girls wear a pair of nice Adidas sneakers to festivals and random outings.

But..of course they have to initially be attractive or it's just a negative double whammy.

Had a great time in South Carolina as well when I was there for training. Had a chance to rip on all type of M cars and sat in some hot laps and damn near lost my lunch lol.

THAT doesn't even look that bad!!!

Reminds me of my fiancé. She loathes it also when she has to dress "not cute." I'm like..we're going on a 7 mile hike..you don't need make-up..

Nice airport; LAX is ugly as sin lol.

Lunch. Don't look at the time stamps. It's wrong because SC is an hour a head and my phone has converted these photos back to what time is was in New Orleans when the photos were taken. We did not eat at 1030.

What is "Airline Chicken" on that menu? Is it as delectable as chicken served to you on an actual airline would be?
