Torn between a new Z06 and an RS7... thoughts?
Alright guys, so its that time of the year again where I get bored and inspired to try something new. I wanted to see if anyone had some advice for my conundrum...? Currently rocking my 2015 m4, which I absolutely love. I really have no complaints about my m4, but I think its time to move in a different direction. I found good deals (that's relative i guess...:P) on a used 2014 Audi RS7 and a used 2015 c7 z06 with z07 package, both with 10k miles. Price difference is about 10k between them, rs7 is about 88 and z06 is 78. I live in the midwest but we usually only get a few snow days a year, so driving the m4 on the stock tires daily was not really an issue. On days where the snow was intense, i just had someone drive me to work, but that only happened on 2 occasions. Anyways, back to the topic, between the RS7 and the z06, what do you guys think?

it depends what you are going for.. tuned and a downpipe on an rs7 will trap 130.... thats a fast ass 4 door.... but then again the c7z06(assuming its manual, that would be only option i would take for this) is an animal of a car, but then again corvettes are everywhere....

The RS7, well...it's still an Audi with tons of electronics. If you have snow, the RS7 would be a good choice because of Quattro but if it's barely any snow, I would grab the z06 and have someone drive me to work or get a beater. |

Z06 without any hesitation. The Audi is, IMO only, u-g-l-y and especially so from the rear. If you wanted a very fast highway cruiser (and didn't object to the looks) then sure, it's a great car. If you want a sports car that is as capable as almost any super car made, it's the Z06 hands down, every day, all day and twice on Sunday.

Z06 if you don't need the extra seats or cargo area.

Between those cars - Z06, no brainier. Lease a civic for the days that you need to be under the radar. Rs7 is missing something like wide fender flares and tires. Debadged and it looks even blander.

It depends on what you want out of a car I suppose. If you want the look at me attention and raw american muscle then z06. If you want to be low key but the at the same time have the performance of a rocket ship and all the additional electronics then rs7. I personally would go with z06 never been a big fan of the corvettes but this last model is absolutely beautiful. Either way op both are amazing machines and don't think you can go wrong with one over the other.

Cross-shopping cars as different as these two indicates that the primary concern is image. You need the Audi. Have you seen the people who live in the midwest and drive Corvettes?
You might want to throw a Mercedes G63 into the mix, too. People in your neighborhood with TVs will think you're a Kardashian. |

I am so surprised at these responses. Well I guess I'll be the first to choose the rs7. Personally I'm not an Audi fan, but I mean come on. It's the perfect balance of luxury and performance. I won't even start on modding that thing...
I guess if you want track capabilities then go for the vette. I've just come to realize most people here recommend cars based on if they are good at the track or not, which 95% don't even go to. Hell I used to do it then I realized what my priorities are in life lol. Either way you can't go wrong really. |

I know where you're coming from (my poll is similar but cheaper at $60k range)...but these cars are: totally different. So the decision should be based on your top criteria. Assuming you're no dummy...keep in mind you live in the Midwest. I've been there for extended periods of time. It's cold and it snows. Just sayin.
Both are fast and super moddable. Both are badass in their own way. To me, the Z06 w/ Z07 is wild and perhaps maybe TOO powerful for track days. But it'll hang with the best of them I'm told. Good luck driving it in the winter. It's only got 2 seats. The passenger seat should be reserved for a package of Depends that you'll need. The RS7 is heavy as hell, but the twin turbo V8 makes up for it. With launch control, you'll pretty much smoke just about anything out there. It'll handle but probably always remind you of its curb weight and the laws of physics. It's got room for 4 and a decent trunk. Plus, you can drive it no matter how cold it is outside, even if there's snow. |
