Wow no 1 Series sedan outside of China seems like they're giving up a huge potential market no? So many A3's and CLA's on the road

This could be like a base for an M2 GC !!
Edit: What color is that? It's like sunburst gold metallic and Austin yellow had a baby. I like it! |

I don't understand the reason why BMW wouldn't introduce such model outside of Chine if we have the A3 sedan and CLA selling like big macs, and we don't expect a 2er gran coupe until next gen, if at all..thats wierd.

Such a shame that there's no plans to bring it to North America.

If this truly isn't coming to the US, then we are at least five years from a sub-3 Series four door here (next generation 2 Series in Gran Coupe form). As others mention, with the CLA and A3 selling so well, it's hard to comprehend quite what BMW is waiting for.

Not sure if I like the shark looking front, but I like the concept as a whole.

If they had it in the US they would probably stick in a super small engine, stripped interior and lease it for $199/month.....
So we probably don't deserve it. ... |

They give us cars like the 3 GT and the 5 GT which while they have a market in Europe they don't sell well here, this car would. On a side note my friend bought a 3 GT and he loves it, said its still awkward to look at lol but the versatility is awesome.

The Sunglow metallic is a cool colour. I see a lot of S3 sedans where I live.... This would sell like 'hot cakes'. Agree with everyone above. It is also the right size for the UK market and would do well in Europe!

I hope this doesn't turn out to be like the X7. For years Lexus and Mercedes were running away with full-size SUV's and it's only now BMW is going to enter this segment. I get it, $100k SUV's aren't exactly high sellers. But with a car like this which would compete with entry-level cars (A3, CLA) which from the looks of it are selling quite well, I don't see why BMW would pass up the opportunity - it's not like they would have to do any market research, Audi and Mercedes have already done the work.
