Garage List
Highway Heat Buckle = Launch Ramp

Apparently it's been pretty hot in MN and the road buckled sending cars flying - not sure why I found this so hilarious but (turn off the sound)

you can almost hear the MNDOT person running the cameras say, "da fuq??" A few people learn, but then more people just keep launching off the thing.

I wonder how an M4 would handle this at 65MPH?

This happened in Germany the past few summers too. It was only on the really old sections of Autobahns that were made from concrete. A motorcyclists died the first year when it happened near Regensburg(Autobahn A93). Now every summer when the temps get over 30'C they impose a 80 or even 60 kph speed limit on those old sections of Autobahns.

Wow that's crazy, temps here rarely even drop below 30C from May through September. It was 97F today. You'd have to drop the speed limits for most of the year, but really ATL traffic is so bad the speed limit signs are more a form of mockery than anything else.

Yep. The heat in German gets uncomfortable when the temps hit 24'C. 30+'C is really too hot for Germany. We really don't have many buildings with AC. But that's seems to be changing.

The Germans will replace those sections of Autobahns over the next few years. The new Autobahn construction is very thick, were talking meters thick(!) now a days. When new Autobahns are built, first thing they build are all the bridges, then they prepare the sub surface and finally the pavement is quite thick. Its really quite a project when you see them making an new Autobahn from scratch.
