3-series based crossover model spotted again
An upcoming crossover variant based off of the 3-series has been caught testing again. Its current form is that of a E91 touring body on a raised suspension platform (probably just for testing drivetrain/suspension/etc..), which will no doubt be replaced eventually by the crossover's actual body shell.

What exactly tells us that's not *just* a next gen X3 mule?
Best regards, south

looking at the ride height, it could be the eventual replacement for the X3. The X3 is not from its model change and judging by what I saw at the auto show this year, the X3 needs a drastic change is there doesn't seem to be any interest in the current one any more.

+1......
BMW is really striving to become the next over blown motor company similar to Ford and/or Merc. Get over BMW, you are good as is, changing with the times doesn't mean f**king up your business model..........sheeesh.

Do we need this?
Hey, why doesn't BMW make a 0 series and make it the same size as a SMART but only two dimensional so it can be parked anywhere. Then they can make fourty seven versions of it with six different engine types. Oh! How about an L.L. Bean limited edition? The sky's the limit!

Why are you guys calling it ugly? It's not even a camo up version of the next gen X3. They're using an E91 body to cover up the parts they are testing. You guys are as bad as the people who are freaking over the NON-PRODUCTION headlights that are on Camaro mules even though people keep on saying they are not the production headlights.

Not sure what they were testing with this. The X1 is reportedly going to be based on the 3 wagon while the X3 should be a different animal. Bimmerfile has some spy photos as well of the X1 and others if you would like to compare.
