BMW builds a ramp for the 1-series launch (literally!)

Ok, this is part of the new viral marketing campaign that BMW wants to do for the new 1-series.

They have actually built a giant ramp and will supposedly "launch" a new 1-series off it. Considering the 1-series is now officially out and can be seen at the dealership and ordered, I don't know when this "launch" will happen, but check out the website here: http://www.rampenfest.com/. I just saw about 4 135i's at my dealer today. I guess they're not selling.

My dealer had 3 M3s on the lot. Guess they aren't selling neither...

Haha, I was being a little sarcastic. Just because they are sitting on the lot, doesn't mean they aren't selling. My dealership got 3 135is, preconfigured, as demos. Basically they are for sale, but more or less, they are just for demoing. I test drove one last Friday and it already had 178 miles on it. They only had it for 4 days. T The two hours or so I spent there, it went out for test drive 4x including mine. he CA said they had about 10 test drives the day before. Same thing with the M3s they had, I demoed a Sedan that essentially was a 'demo' car. Already had 70 or so miles on it. I put about 7 miles on it myself, and I can't say they were the 'easiest' miles!

Good rule to follow, never purchase a demo car!

Guys it is just supposed to be a funny video. Did you see all the billy-bob teeth and the quick sequence where the guy was sitting in the 1-series? All marketing.

All the story behind this is the following:
Bmw built in the bavarian village "Oberpfaffelbachen" a giant, 454m tall ramp.
Since Audi used already in the 1980s a ski jumping ramp in scandinavia to prove the traction potential of the quattro, BMW will go one step further:
They will use this ramp to "launch" the 1 series in the USA. The 300hp of the 135i Coupe will be enough to "shoot" the car from the ramp over the atlantic ocean right into the american market...

i cant decide between 135/335. wish i could get an m3 although i dont like the bubble very much but could learn to live with it.
