MB C63 AMG $62k fully loaded, looks like a bargain

saw the article of edmund's full test of the car, the test car was fully loaded and was listed at $65k but that has the optional performance package which won't be available on the '08 models, that runs you about $3500. so basically for less than $62k, you can get a fully loaded c63, wow that's almost 7k cheaper than the fully loaded e90 m3. umm interesting it definitely worth a test drive at least.

But wait a minute - the only reason its 62k and not 65k is because the performance package is not yet available. But everyone is (or was) bitching about that on the forums. I mean its a huge oversight for MBUSA, and barely acceptable. No LSD in a car with 450 ft-lb?

So, just pretend like you can't get ZTP and ZPP for the '08 M3. There - now you have you 65k loaded M3.

Is Huckster Mercedes selling it on E-Bay for $60K? With no reserve. Unless you bid on it and its a mistake. Huckster hasnt made a mistake for a couple hours so I wouldnt put it passed them.

The sport pack on the 2009 models will have a LSD. Also composite brakes, 15-20% stiffer suspension, and raised limiter to 186 mph.

I know - that was exactly my point. If BMW only sold the M3 without LSD for MY2008 but charged 3k less would that be a good thing? No. But the OP makes it sound like it would.

Why pretend?

C63 =

I like the engine ok, but the M3 engine has the characteristics I prefer.

It is a pretty sick car.. And will take any of us on a straight away. It's a drag racing car. There are a ton of videos on you tube between the C63 and the M3. It smokes our M's every time till they hit a turn and then the M takes over.

So the C63 will hang around stoplights, hoping for somebody to come by and give it action? You know who else does that? Hookers.

No doubt. That is a sweet engine IMHO.

But, they are two different beasts. One is more of a straight line car...fast going straight, but not a handling car.

The other is still fast, but built more for twisties.

Just depends what you want out of a car...I think they are both nice.

For me, I am more of a twisty guy, so I am going M3. If I needed a car that I would not track and just commuted in, I would go for the C. Simple as that.

That'a about right I think!!! 63 is not so bad on twists though not as good as the M.
